but its like we say in rallying, you can be the fastest driver, but no point if your navigator sends you the wrong way! 

 

 

itll get there now. just got the plan and ill stick to it! I was trying to cut corners but using the aerosol primer, but it didnt pay off.

i have been asked to do more hours at work, and wont have as much time. I want to be driving this car soon, so , ive made a decision, they will paint the car at work. The garage is too small, and it makes sense ...

 

 

i just need to do a few jobs first

 

 

 

 

door skin, and im going to order one for the other side too, can make a much nicer job of it now...

i bought a new door skin as ive said, i must have distorted the other one and not reolised  how bad i had done. So the new skin is fitted and it almost feels like no filler needed. Ive ordered a new one for the other side too, dosnt take long to fit. ALso finished stripping some paint from the rear, put that in 2k, and put the bonnet on. Just need the other door skin done before i can leave it to Terry to show his skills ;)_

still got one door skin to do, i was going to do it last weekend but decided to do other things.

the rad and some what i thought would be hard to get parts... the BUMPERS!!

 

 

 

 

Although they are grey, thats what the car should have, so its getting fitted. Cant wait to start building the car up!

 

 

Need to think about the ecu and the injection system next, i have a fantastic idea for this. Defo speeduino ecu, i have that already, and a wideband for it. Its the injection, this maybe a little special! Keep watching!

I purchased the black ones 3 years ago from euro car parts and they have rotted quite badly! My next purchase would be carbon fibre or fibre glass ones.

I should of done that!! I used a discount code and purchased a pair for £30

yes. i have to paint  the arches grey too, and i think the gutter trim should be grey too, but not sure ifi can paint that ... hmm!

HELLO! remember me?! lol! Ive not had chance to do much to the mini, firstly Terry at work was meant to be painting it, but now i recon itll be at least christmas as he is just so busy at work. Secondly ive had covid, it has knocked me for six, but im getting stronger again, back at work. While ive been off though, it seems there is every car show going, and im sat here with a shell in the garage. So ive started the body work myself again. 

 

Ive done 2 door skins, i just wasnt happy with the other 2 i fitted. These are lots better. Also ive started to do the filler on the roof again. I cant remember if i had said the roof rack i made to roll the car on broke one day, and i pushed the car into the front subframe damaging the front of the roof. But lets crack on.

 

 

 

 

 

... and to be fair, comming back to body work, it is a lot easier, i can  see things that i just could not before, Ive filled the front of the roof in no time, and am cracking on with the middle to rear. I cant wait to get it painted, just have to see now as if i can get it in primer, my mate has a truck box he is making into a paint room to paint 2 mk2 escorts he has, and has offered it to me. Painting the car in one go is the way, and i cant do that in the garage at home.

I see you've got a nice white haze everywhere, my garage has a Bermuda blue version through painting my Minor traveller
