Hi Steven, hope you and the family all are well, long time no see. The work you are going on the Golf is looking great; I'm looking forward to seeing this progress    I like the colour, what colour code did you go for in the end?

Me and family are ok, kids are hard work lol. How are you see your'e married now with a son if I'm right  Do you still own your mini.

Good stuff, pleased to hear it. We are well thanks, yes married with 2 sons now - they are 4 and 2. Surprising how quickly time goes by! I sold the mini about 3 or 4 years ago, but looking to get back into the mini scene...hence starting to get back onto the forums to find out what I've been missing out on

Picked up some parts from the Powdercoaters. These are still the genuine vw items.

Few other bits unwrapped

Sandblasted the rain tray out today, there's an annoying rust hole right In the corner. I'm not sure how I will tackle this.

 

First pics after blasting.

Epoxy primed, access was a nightmare.

Headliner recovered, cracked the board in a few places. These mk2 headliner boards are pants just polystyrene.

Been sorting out the rust patches around the windscreen scuttle today.

 

First pics is the little bits of rot.

Next pics of a few repairs done and ground down.

Left hand drive wiper hole removed and plated.

Reapair piece tacked in.

Fully welded.

First grind over on the weld.

Fully ground down and finished. There's a few high and low spots but a skim of filler should sort It out.

Had to reinstate my modified engine stand so I felt safe stripping the back axle beam out.

Passenger rear inner arch before strip down.

Pics after rear axle and other parts stripped from the back underside. I can now get on and strip the rest of the sealer.

Few photo's of progress this week.

 

Cut the rust out the corner of the rain tray.

Stripped rubber undercoat from passenger side rear inner wheel arch. Pics are before epoxy primer.

Epoxy primed.

Started stripping rubber under from rear underside.

Another section of rear floor finished today, not a alot left now.

Not a lot done to the golf in 4 weeks due to work, I'm going to get back on it this weekend.

In other news the green mini has been sold due to no time but I have brought another mini on the road.
