Initially so i know what i want, and how much its gonna set me back!
Heads im looking at here
These are the ones im looking at;
GT6/1
GT14
GT15
GT17
GT18!!!PRICE!!!
All the valves sizes are there, just insire on how much pocketing i should do!! As i wouldnt want to get too close to the edge of the housing!
Then i was looking at Cams!
649S race;
===================
Power band RPM: 3700-8500
Duration in /ex: 300-312
Valve Lift: 400"-420"
Timing: 50-70 81_51
Full lift: 100
Valve clearence cold: 014"-016"
Which would be best headwise? and would i be looking to reach the 100bhp mark with this cam? or would i be better looking at on of the Special Tuning cams??

That cam sounds like a beast. You probly know this, but i learned it the hard way because of my neivety (sp?) The powerband figures are usually quoted for 1275's, and by having it in a 998 its going to be pushed up. IE mines quoted 2000-7500 or something, but the cam doesn't acctually come on till 3200ish. Also lighted and balance the tits off it! the power band may quote to 8500, but that doesn't mean u'll get there unless the internals are capable of it. Mine only goes to 7000 ATM. Soz u probly know that, but just incase..
Having said that if its set up well its going to be a beaut! Cammy motors kick ass, it knocks you back like a turbo and sounds ace when you stop next to people at traffic lights because the engine sounds shagged

that will really be un-drivable in town! or if you can get Megajolt or Megasquit or DTI, you might JUST get away with it!
Personally - Why not look at the SW10, or 286... or maybe the MSPD ph3 cam? or if its race you want... MSPD ph4, does faff all before 3000, but once u get there HOLD ON!! and when you hit 3500 - this is where the cam is truly doing its stuff - - its unbelievable! But that was in a 1293, god knows what it'll be like in a 998...
You going to rebore the 998?

Jet - I had actually forgotten that. So this means the cam wont come into play untill about 4000-4500 and will porbably top out at abuot 8500-9000, as you said IF the rest of the engine can take it.
i havent heard tremendously great tyhings about the morspeed cams. And the 286, although a great cam, not entirely what i am looking for to get me upto 100bhp.
