I have nothing at all against them, don't get me wrong I think its an absolutely ingenious conversion, i just have a feeling that the final cost might not be a million miles away from the kad engine (which has 20 years of development behind it and is tried and tested)

If I could afford a KAD head id go for it, looks so tasty sat underneath the bonnet. I know someone selling one as well but it cant find £3k to buy the engine off him, dammit

looking foward to seeing how your build comes along - brave going for a colour change!
My gold one should be back together in a month or less hacking the evo fraternity off.lol!
the big news though is that the demo car clubby (1293 BMW twin cam 8v fuel injected/fast road spec) has been on the rollers today for mapping - If I can figure it out I'll pop the pics of the curve up - if not they'll be on the turbominis site! - if you're at Brighton pop over for a look at it and a chat
sorry for thread hi jack - give us some pics of the Z cars set up whe nyou get it Dan?
cheers

John, i'm surprised to be honest, assuming the same bottom end and assuming your average joe on the street (and not somebody with the facilities to carry out all the machine work themselves

After all 4 grand gets you everything you need to turn your 1275 into a kad 16 valver. Would it really be that much less by the time you've paid for the block to be redrilled, machined blah blah whatever else needs to be done to fit one?
I will of course eat humble pie when we finally meet as your car will be significantly faster than mine

who loves the mini: i was told that with the 70% cc increase or what ever it was (i was told iv not worked it out myself or asked about) that would be over 2litre unless that car was before a certain age, if it was id be in the 1600 and over class, unfortunatly the mini is a 93 (hence my name) so thats not possible...i think im gona just build the car how i want it and try to find a race groupe i can slide in without changing too much because most of all i want the mini hw i want and not just to get past regulations

Could always just go for the extreme mighty minis, anything goes with them as long as its mini shape

introducing.... head!

has the milder LT cams, but this should be more suited to being supercharged really if not...custom cams will be required

i had no idea the valves would be so small

cheers minisprocket!!
soon to be aquiering a rollcage, also sould be getting a lock up, which means the car wil be covered one way or another so the front end can be chopped off and the mini genraly stripped
