Thanks mate! Looking back at them pictures it really does look a state! But I will get some more pictures for you tonight!

I have almost done the whole of the roof gutter on the back and I have started to go along the drivers side roof guttering and it really is solid!

I still need a rear valance and once I have got that then the project will really start to be on the go! Last night I got my front wings and front valance so I will start to make my flip front soon! I also got my drivers side sill which I will but on tonight. Once I have my rear valance on I can start to blend in my arches

But I still have hundreds of hours of work to do!

Righty, lastnite i was about to start work on my front end but my welder packed up so that got propeled down the end of the garden with much force so i deffinately need a new welder now! Will have to get out and on the look for one. BUT my loverly uncle was going to buy me a welder as a early bithday present as he had heard me winging that my welder was a hunk of *******, but he said that i could borrow his dads and if i got on with that he will buy me one

I continued with the smothing of the shell last nite but where my garage is at the end of my garden and it was -7 lastnite with 3 inches of snow, the filler on the shell wouldnt dry so i had to ocntinue with stripping the front subby but i will go up there in a mo and start shapping.

There has not been a lot of movement on the preject recently and this is due to the fact that i have a brother that severly suffers from aultism, asberges, adhd, comunication disorders and many other mentaly chananging problems and due to my father leaving recently and him having no contact with any of his children my brother is taking it rather hard and i have a lot to do with him and his education and his 24 hour care, so the project may has been going a bit slower that i expected which really does suck!

But! talking to a friend the other day, He has a C20XE with loom, manifolds, exhaust, ECu and pretty much everything that will be needed for a vaux conversion and he wants a pretty fair price for such a low milage engine. I have also seen, heard and been in a car with the engine running and its a beast, the onlyreason he is selling i is due to upgrading to a LET.

My finrst questions are, would it be suitable for me to build my own subframe? I am aware that i will need to cut away in the front of the car for the gear linkage. I also assume that if i was to ad a set of throttle boddies that i would have make modifications to the bukhead area? I woulod aldo want to keep a standard sized front end and not any of the extended ones. Drive shaft wise i may be able to get my uncle to machine me some for a little less that £400 but if not i will be prepared to pay the £400 Matt wants for his.

I will not be driving this car as a first car if the conversion goes ahead and it complete by the time i am 17! I wil buy another car and keep this untill i am old engouh to afford insurance ect. Maybe take it to a few track days.

Is anyone going to the 16vminishop open day?

sorry but i cant see the point in having a car that looks fast but isnt? dont take it the wrong way but its just pointless really isnt it? i'm 22 not been driving all the long and i used to love cars like that at 17 but i'm glad i never bothered. i used to hate it when people told me to get a std car/bike ride/drive it get experiance then get something decent after a year but it really is the best thing to do even if its not a mini get something with potential like a suzuki swift, 106 rallye hot hach but small motor

just my opinion i can see the attraction honest but dont rush into it mate

got the escort and got borred of it so i sold it hehe!
Anyways the shed is still parked up in the garage, we are moving in around jully time and i want to have the car in a running state so that it can be driven/towed/trailered to my mates house and locked up until we find an ew place so the race is on

Right, after selling all of my after market products i chose to start again, I have 4 13x7 wellers boutht for the bargain price of £99p each! With pirrelli tyres!

Then i bought a corbeau thing dont know its name, like a monaco s for £15 which i am going to recover in faux leather at collage!

i have also got a turbo engine on the shopping list but i have to go over to essex to collect it.

Bet you never exspected the change of heard now eh!

hi mate i think ive seen the turbo engine in the for sale section and would just say, whats the point.

Clearly it quite far away from you and if it is the one im thinking of its going to need a complete re-build, and its minus the turbo. why not get a local std 1275 engine and re-build it to spec. to my nolege it would not make a diference.

lets face the truth bud, EVERY turbo engine needs a rebuild, at the youngest they are 20 years old... they will be shagged! even if i was to buy a decent running one i would strip it and rebore it anyway. I would prefer to pull £50 apart then £250!

Not that far either only about 20 miles ish. I recon its possible, makes more sence in my eyes anyhow!
