In your mini resource/paint pic, you dont have any rear windows! Is this actually what you want? Or just the pic

Nope thats how i am planning on it being, van style!

Not to sure about how i am going to do it yet.

I have come to the decision that the front is going to be a steel flip front but with the a panels included so that there are no nasty big gaps between the arch and a-pannel so thats that problem sorted!

Do you think? Before I had this car I was looking into buying an Astra mk3 van and turning it into a phase one GSi replica so that I could transport my FMX bikes around without having to rely on my parents, I was looking for a few quotes but I was told that I would have no chance because it would be classed as a commercial vehicle. Mr Marshal was the one who told me and I didn’t believe him and tried it myself. But I suppose this will still be classed as a saloon? What makes you say insurance will be cheap Tomo?

Also I am off to collect my front panels for my flip front tonight, and then I am planning on getting a compressor and the paint so that at least I can get the front end of my car painted and set up ready to go on. But can any one advise me on what compressors I should be looking at and what paints I will need please?

lol, i didn't say cheap, i said cheaper! I only said that because i know the likes of fiesta vans etc are cheaper than their saloon counterparts. However, in this case it will be modified so probably wouldn't apply.

As for whether it would still be classed as a saloon, im not sure on that, may have to contact DVLA?

oh i get you! and my mini will be like the mk3 fiesta vans with a clear rear window!

I suppose i will have to contact the ALVD, If i was to put a clubman front on a mini would i have to contact them aswell?

Just been reading through your project, sounds all good!! Like the de-seaming - always have done, its just having the balls to do it!!

How long has your project been going? And how much further has the de-seaming got?
