Hi there, in advance if i am posting this in the wrong category or anything!

I have come across a set of complete carbs in the garage while clearing out.

I am after some advice of what they are off, and if it looks like they are complete?

Also a rough price of what they are worth would also be handy.

Kind Regards in advance.

Chris

They are twin HS2’s with a Mk2 or later manifold and airbox.

A mint condition airbox can sell for mega bucks

Here’s an example of one sold recently

If you can tell me the letters and numbers on the tags, I can tell you what car they came from, it will possibly start AUD

These were fitted to the late 1300 Austin as well, but if you tell me the numbers and letters, I should be able to help.

Thank both for a quick response! When I get home I will clean the tabs up and see what is stamped on them.

If you give them a thorough clean and are working then you should fetch over £400 for these complete with the airbox. I'm not sure if your airbox snorkel has been cut but it should be longer with an bend at the bottom with a ring and clip.

Thank you for the replies I much appreciate it! I did have that feeling when doing a bit of looking around, that the snorkel had been cut down at some point. Do you guys know from the pictures if the carbs look to be all complete? And is there anyways you would recommend to clean them up?

Thanks chris

Depends if you mean clean them up or restore them. Burlen in Salisbury for example will restore them but this will probably cost you about what they will then be worth. Unless you want them for your own car I would be tempted to just put them on Ebay as they are - originality is valued these days.

Pricey doing the work your self. Believe me, runs into hundreds !

Then you have the negative of people saying the work was inadequate, so let someone else fiddle with them
