Hello,
I have a Goodridge braided brake hose kit for Mini 84+, bought in 2018. The Goodridge reference is "ZZAA0180-015" and "C-AJJ4027B" at Minispares. From what I understand, it's a very popular kit, so if there was a problem, someone would have probably alerted us.
The kit is for front and rear brakes and also the verto clutch, so it's composed of 5 hoses.
My Mini is a '99 Rover MPI.
I have a few questions :
- With the kit, I have 4 copper washers: 2 large and 2 small. What are they for? Is it to replace the two at the front right brake's banjo and the two at the clutch's banjo? Or should I use them on the front calipers side? If so, which ones (small or large), they all seems too big…
- If I use 2 of the washers for the calipers, what the two others are for?
- The Goodridge rear hoses are 15cm long, shoulder to shoulder. I have read here, that they may be too short and maybe should be 21cm long. Is there a problem? As I am already fighting with the front hoses, I still haven't got a chance to check the rear, but I prefer to ask in advance
- To install the hose on the front right, should I first tighten the caliper side of the hose, or should I fix the hose at the subframe? I think it would be easier to fix it on the caliper, but if someone as experience whith it, I would appreciate some help
Is there a definitive guide somewhere for this brake hose kit? In the past I have installed braided brake hoses to a scooter and a motorcycle without trouble: everything was straightforward. But this time it's more complicated, and not accessible at all
Best Regards,
Olivier
