Good morning, I have an issue with getting my mini to run.its a mini city e 1988. I've owned it for 33years but has been garaged for the last 20. I can get it running for about 30 secs then it revs like mad and then dies. Leave it a while and then it does the same again. I've changed all the usual parts, plugs leads points etc and cleaned the carb as best as I can.need to move the car soon to get welding done and dont fancy pushing it to driveway. Garage is in a block so not just pushing it out of garage!!😫😫. Any help would be appreciated to at least keep it running for longer than 30 secs.

I had a similar issue where the revs would be really high on start up, turned out to be the advance/retard vacuum pipe from the distributor to the carb that had split on both ends. Might be worth checking, only a couple of quid to replace.

Thanks, this had rotted whilst it was stored so have replaced. Was told this could be the problem but no luck.
