Hi Here's the start of a new project. 1960 mini minor, named it the doctor. (doc for short) I found out that the last owner/driver was a doctor, I found paperwork inside from 1984, plus I found a card inside saying Doctor on call.

she does need a bit of medical attention.

at the moment Im in the process of stripping her down so that I can start the operation.

Thanks for the feedback

heres a couple of pics of the boot and floor

all didnt look too bad on the main floor until you give it a little poke. you can see the nice neat hole someone made for a later gearbox.

Did few hours after work. just wanted to get the rear boot area a little more stable before I start the boot floor.

the rear subframe is in bad condition. not sure if the car might of had a small bump sometime.

anyway, next job put it on the turning frame.

put the car on a rollover jig

Ive used this jig for a couple of capris so had to do some mods to get it to fit the mini.

started the major operation. took both the subframes out, the front one looks to be in pretty good order, but the back one has well and truly had it. so next job is to repair the wheel tubs and weld in a new boot floor.

its funny when I read the Haynes manual, and it says its worth checking your subframe after 5 years. they didnt expect the car to last in those days, well 60 years later, I think the back one deserves a new one.

so on to the boot floor, it was a bit of hassle lining everything up especially when you have no reference, due to most of the back being missing.

just need to do some seam sealing inside the boot, I'm a bit happier now the car has some more structural integrity.

I do have some repairs to do on the rear quarters, just a few areas near the arch,

made a couple of repair sections for the luggage compartments will welding these in before the new floor, and ive done some repairs to the drivers sill. I suppose some would of put a new sill in, but its on a budget. especially when you've just bought the new floor. Ive put a small repair on the cross member, but this will be removed later when Ive repaired it from the underside ( only a small hole).

Looking good, nice to see another one being saved.

Are you going to change the whole floor and is so are you going to use a MK1 floor from M Machine or are you going to fit a later floor?
