Hello forum!

I hope everyone is well.

I have recently installed some LED sealed-beams on my '95 SPI mini, mainly so I can actually see where i am going in the dark. ( I will change them back to stock when the days are longer :proud: ).

The units in question can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/mt5jk4c2

When I put my light switch in the first position (side lights), the low beams also come on, all be it slightly dimmer. Ideally i would like only the outer halo to illuminate.

Has anyone come across this 'issue'?

I do not have my indicators connected up to the LED Halo, just the side light circuit.

Any help/advice is much appreciated. :proud:

Many thanks,

Sam

I can't help you with the wiring but I'd suggest that you get a garage to pop them on their MOT beam tester gadget, a friend bought the same lights recently and the beam pattern was beyond awful, he sent them back.

Yes, that's two hot spots from one dip beam light.

Yes I agree with sonscar. The dim/dip hardware (relay and ballast resistor) is located behind the rad. Quite easy to disable.

Evening Forum!

I hope you have all had good weekends.

I have tried the advice above this eveing and it worked!

I unplugged the resitor (and isolated the ends) and bingo, the 'issue' is solved.  :proud:

Now when light switch in the side-light position, only the LED halo comes on.

Many thanks sonscar and Richard_,

Sam

Hello,

They seem alright to me, miles brighter then the halogens before. Pattern seems to be similar.

I shall  take a photo tomorrow evening when it is dark.

I am going to take them to an MOT center in the next week or so to align them, so will ask them to check on their device.
