Now the body is finished and I have an appointment in the paintshop for the next month  :shades:

I've lost the struggle with bonnet straighttening so I get a second one. It has some damage on the other side, so I cut the and weld the good pieces to one

Front subframe primed with epoxy, will be finished in black. Same with the brake plates

Voltage regulator upgraded with a DVR3 unit

Final work before painting is to assemble the bonnet. I've made custom electrodes for this purpose to reach the rear corners. It worked nicely  :proud:

Today we traveled to the paint shop. I choosed Harvest Gold for Lilly

The engine can't wait for the spin

Meanwile I prepare the other bits

Subframes are primed with epoxy and a final black coat sprayed. I also bent some brake pipes.

I sprayed the last drops of primer to the heater box just to be sure  :proud:

There is some issue with the radius arm bushings. I plan to replace it with  solid bronze bushes on both sides instead.

Looks like someone has been a busy boy.. attention to detail now is paying off... a credit to the build. Well done.

Harvest Gold, nice period colour choice!
It's a colour you rarely see anymore. I saw a harvest gold mini 1000 at brands hatch mini festival last week and there was some info about the car displayed in the rear window. It was built in November 1972, the same as my car, and it had a supposedly rare olive coloured interior, the same that mine used to have. Unfortunately I never saw the owner to have a chat. This car and my car came off the production line virtually together. I need to find my heritage certificate to find out the day of production of my car.

Photo is my car in 1984, just after I bought it. I still have it but it looks nothing like this now.

I do like those rare period colors, my 1975 1000 - called Manuel - painted Tundra Green   :proud:

Sadly the interior of Lilly is not that good shape, especially of the seats and I can't find original Autumn Leaf seats.
