Hi!
I posted recently for advice on getting a new engine in! Thanks to those that helped, its in! :)
i'm now at a bit of a loss as to what connects where on the electrics.
Its a 1989 flame red, the new engine/gearbox is an a+ from a metro.
Does anyone know what should go where please?
Pic 1: I think that ground cable to the block is correct, i don't know what the other multicolour cable is. (bottom left)

(dont worry, that alternator is being replaced and mounted with proper bolts)
Pic 2: this cable with a spade by the spark leads is very short out of the dizzy, but i think it connects to the coil.
Connected to the coil already is a black cable, running from something metal and circular also mounted to the bracket the coil is on. I dont know what that is. (or if its connected to the right place! - perhaps its a metro thing?)
There is a multicoloured cable with no spade connecter on it (with 2 different colour sleeves attached) too - im not sure what thats broken off.

This is a project from 2005 that ive picked up for the first time again in the past month - so i have no idea what was connected to what originally, and the haynes manual sadly didn't seem to survive a move. I found some great diagrams on here, but they're very technical and I am not!
Hopefully someone can help based on the above so i can try turning it over and first of all seeing if i can at least get a spark! (and find out if this engine works)
Thanks,
J
