bit of an update!! ... not really been back home from uni to work on the car because of lovely assignments!! yay! lol

but bought an 13 row oil cooler from fleabay, because it was dirt cheap..

and was trying make up some brace bars similar to the ones i saw in mini mag..

anyway are these gonna be strong enough or am i p*ss*ng into the wind?? comments please folks appreciated!...

was having a fiddle on old version of photoshop last night, im no ace but i think it didnt come out to bad...

althought i had a hell of a trouble with the door, i think as it was a different colour and not very good quality reflection... but looks ok...

It'll be fine, just stick it on with a bit of 'no more nails' and some wood screws

All brace bars really do is hold the front of the subby so that the back doesn't flex on the bulkhead/firewall bit and satisfy the MOT man. Lets face it, if you crash, that fronts gone, and brace bars are gonna do nowt! The race boys dont even use 'em.

Killer design ! , I was hoping to do the same in green at some point D: cheeky, mind stealing monkey! ¬_¬. You studying design at Coventry ? As i noticed that marker rendering earlier on , and what with coventry being supposedly good for design. Ive still got to decide between Graphic illustration in teeside, or Graphic products in loughborough ! . Its always fun to draw minis with the markers.

hey no im on motorsport engineering degree, dan (jetblick) is on design though ^^... my mate steve did the mini quick like with markers. lol

how the hell??? when we tryed to move andys with no front end it seam to just want to buckle and break in two!! eeek

your brace bars would do the job fine chap, where there is a triangle part on the bulkhead crossmember it has i think 4 big spotwelds, cut your bracebar down and weld it on the centre of that if your welding it on! looks a cool little project, the photoshop looks ace, oh arh! if you dont mind me asking where do you get photoshop from?

I was going to say the same. Brace bars are only really called for to keep the MOT station happy. Mines never been fitted with them and so long as you've got solid suby mounts, you should be fine.

yeah its not photoshop but a really old copy of Coral Draw Photo Paint, my dad had it at home, its basically the idea, but it came out of the arc!!!.. i think its ten years old.. lol

not been back home for a while as uni dissatations as put the mini on the back burner at the mo.. but hope fully will be back on the job in the summer..
