oh boy, its been a wee bit hasn't it? not a ton to report on, the bodywork is still being done inbetween jobs, alot of jobs righ tnow apparently, and I haven't really acquired anything else. I did have hte pleasure of helping my boss start restoring his 1948 Riley RMA...very cool car. oh, and a new idea for the metal race seat, as the vinyl wrap would be too pricey, is to spray it white, mask off "bricks" and hand paint THE WALL on it...I think a pink floyd seat would be badass, and it's an easy design.

Heres the seat anywho, I'm going to look for a nice cover for it, so my bum doesn't ache all the time!

I've got a bit of an update, I guess. I've been working on the smaller details of the car, before it's ready. I sprayed the doorcards and door pocket liners with vinyl spray, and cleaned up the vinyl around the speedo. I also rebuilt and resprayed the heater, as well as the fuel tank. bodywork update, i've been told that the roof bend has been fixed, and looks quite good! so thats good.

yeah, i messaged a kirkey guy and got the product code as well. apparently chris modded it though, so i'll have to get my mum to sew haha. I'd hurry, but until Alans done the bodywork, i just really have to get as many parts ready as possible. I think i've got most of the things I need ready. I figure I'll paint the engine bay, interior and trunk myself, so i can put the interior together, and put in the engine and transmission, that sorta stuff, before getting the exterior sprayed. and the underbody too i suppose. by the way, your brown mini, however cool, has left so many oil stains in the shop man...pisses oil. haha, hows the supercharging going in your red car?

Bodywork update, Allan has the front panel, drivers side and part of the passenger side complete. this includes A panels and sills. he's filling the antenna hole on the wing, as well as the door mirror holes, as i have a wide angle "winky" rear view mirror. I've also found a fellow who restores antique BMC radios, and adds an auxilary jack for an ipod on to them. Dennis has one in 4 of his cars, and says it sounds fantastic! and it'll also look proper. I will see about speakers, but the one or two will go on the rear parcel shelf, no big ice install. thats all for now!

small update. the car will have all the rust repairs finished, and i'm picking it up on the 24th! just need confirmation. i'm so excited! have to strip and paint the engine bay, interior, boot. put the front subframe and engine in. do the rear brakes, paint suspension on car. interior in. then get the ouside painted. then all the finishing things!

So, today i got up bright and early to pick up my mini!!!
The rust repairs were excellent, and Alan has given me a worldbeating deal.
I do have to drill out the spotwelds on the bonnet lip though. I've decided to strip down the engine bay, and take out the instrument pod to bead blast it. And we've also decided to do the rear subframe. might as well do it while i'm doing everything else, not in 3 years. only more money and more work haha. so excited!!!

over the past two days, I dropped the rear subframe, and have it stripped bare now, ready to be taken back to bare metal and then i will rust paint it. i'm in the process of rebuilding the brakes and suspension. just a wee update!

Yeah, I really need to stop forgetting the damned camera! the radius arms are complete including the brakes, as well as the cones and struts painted. stainless braided lines and taper roller bearings. the subframe came back from blasting, and there was some perforation on one side, so i cut out hte offending bits, and will have it welded up before painting and reassembly. i'll try and get some pics!

hey Warren bout time you get that thing back... good to hear you are still progresing... who is going to do all the filler, and body and paint work?

Oh and the brown mini that was mine is not mine anymore as i sold it last may to a guy in edmonton named Larry... if it was mine it wouldnt have ended up at the shop to get the leaks fixed as i would have done it myself... haha but yeah that engine was put together by mostly minis in british colombia and eveb when it was mine it tended to spring leaks a little too frequently...

I am in scotland right now and have been backpacking around for the last two months... not returning to canada untill the end of august. as for supercharging... havent gotten anywhere on that but have had some changes in plans on that... secrets though...haha

yeah, i knew you sold it, but still your creation haha. Yeah, progress is progress, the i've cut out the perforation in the subframe, and ken welded it up. I put a coat of paint on yesterday, another monday then i'll reassemble. I'm really not sure about the paints and filling yet, possibly O'Brians or Scott. I think i'm going to do the engine bay, interior and trunk myself htough. I still have to get the engine bay stripped though. Thats that! I'll work on those pictures

Well heres the pics. rebuilt the master cylinders. stripped the doors, and took off the (damaged) padded dash rail.
