i painted the interior, engine bay and trunk myself. and that went alright, except i did it in halves, the trunk and rear at one time, front and engine bay. unfortunately, i changed primers for the front, and it gave a shitty finish to the paint, very dry. so i'm going ot clear coat the upper dash rail, and engine bay, so it looks decent. the rear look fab, the floors and back seat have primer overspray tho >_< the parts you see, the pockets, b pillar etc are good tho. annnd i took out the steering column and pedal box, as well as the steering rack. painted all those things. undercoated the whole bottom, as well as running the fuel and brake lines from the back. and I put up the front and rear subframes, looks great.

so i sanded down the upper dash rail and crossmember, and re clear coated them. they look really good now. aaaand i reassembled the pedal box, all nice and painted, same with the steering column. i pulled the wiring through to the back, and into the engine bay. i'll probably put in the box and column on monday, and i have to make my nice new steering wheel fit. well, its not new, but i like it haha. oh and i got a steering drop bracket, figured nows the time really. eventually i'll have to make some brackets for the race seat to fit, and i'll set up the steering, and seat for best driving position.

yeah the sides of the engine bay are a bit pale/dull/primer-esque, but the firewall, and parts of interior taht are visible got clearcoated and are good. i've got the master cylinders in and connected to the pedal box, had to make gaskets, probably took longer than the installation. my spax shocks were dark green, i don't know why, they are brand new Krypton gas ones....but green? so i painted them yellow haha. dont worry, i took off the sticker and re applied it. thats a bit of progress

today i cleaned up the instrument binnacle, took out the intrusments and did what i could with them as well. it looks pretyt good now! started wiring it up. then realized i needed a voltage stabilizer, some extra wires and sealent around the edge. well, ill know how to do it monday haha. also taped up the whole harness wiht black electrical tape. better than the ratty grey stuff it had.

binnacle is bolted in, goopy stuff around it. good stuff i guess, got the voltage stabilizer hooked up as well as sorted out what wires where. noticed a wee bit of fluid around a brake fitting, i cleaned it off, and i'm hoping it was from a leak we had before, and it goes away, if not, we'll have to grind down the top of the braided hose fitting, as the metal pipes fitting might not be going down far enough, because its full tight. ho hum.

Theres the engine going in, its in now, manifolds, y pipe, shift linkage and carbs are all on it now, aren't in the picture. i've got the slave cylinder spring installed, took a bit of time, and i've just started trying to do more little things. its sitting a bit high, and it doesn't have brand new cones or anything...so i did the right hting and ordered some hi los :D will look good anyways. i'll set the toe and such as well when i install those!

Got a bit more done today, the clutch works properly now, the solenoid is hooked up, painted of course, battery cable run down the bottom and fixed in position, collecting some more small bits, cables and grommets and the like. getting closer and closer to starting the engine in the car.
