that looks sharp...alot better than my effort :D. i also think it'll look great with the headlight covers like on the first one....I love it. I would like those wheels buuut i don't think that'l happen anytime soon.

Here's some pics, did some more work on the motor today, took off the flywheel, alternator adn some other things, need to switch over the transimission case to a remote one, too bad it's a real good one on it might use the gears from it. also the seats i might buy, i don't know if they're mini seats can someone tell? or would they fit, don't know if you guys can tell from the pic, as well as the steering wheels i'll be getting!

sure,if you pay for my plane ticket :(. well i'm going to pretty much put it in as it is, only need rings and maybe some gaskets. so, that means its a 997 cooper head, with valve work to make it pretty much a 12g295 (its a 12g202) with bigger valves, stock 998 pistons, twin carbs, probably going to put on rams and sock filters, maybe an SW5 cam, decent crank and whatever else i can afford. gunna be a standard tranny, well a better clutch and it's already got a lightend flywheel!then it'll evolve from that! i'm hoping for aroudn 65, maybe more!will also get a good exhaust system adn manifold. going to have standard brakes and suspension, to keep down costs. does anybody know if those seats are mini seats?

if im getting 65 then you should be able to easily fella!!! i recommend upgrading the gearbox though!!!! as im living proof a 998 will wreck the tranny lol.. have you got any further with the shell?? what needs doing to it?

what do you suggest for the tranny then? i want to spend a minimal amount of money...i'll ask my "mini expert" on what he thinks needs doing. and as for the shell, nothing, it is going in to the school for bodywork ?????? i don't know when! but i don't care, as long as it happens. it needs sills, bought replacement panels as they are totally rotten, the roof bend needs fixing, some surface rust ehre adn there and thats about it! then a full respray in white and black! they can do that there too if they want to...the bodywork is free (as far as i know :w00t:) except for panels and probably paint. I think the teacher will make sure the kids do a good job, they might not do everything but something for free is better than nothing. again anybody on seats ( i want them, look nice probably cheap, but are they mini seats? or can they be adapted...or are they too big, thanx anybody!)

brilliant free slave's..:( :crazy: ..lol... upgrade the diff to a X pin and change the FD so you cane get a bit more omph!! (thats the technical term!!)... you might be able to get away with leaving the gears standard.. but thats a question for guessworks..lol

not sure about the seat buddy, not seen them before, they look american..dunno

alright soudns good, lol whats FD i'm sure i know it but nto right now....CALLING GUESSWORKS explain what i will need for my engien spec (see inthread). yeah i know, slaves older than me too! hopefully they can get it all done, save me sooo much$$$. i'll check about the seats, maybe i can get some brackets welded up if they are good condition. warren

well at the shop today i discovered a few things. a)my "lightened flywheels" is actually a forged steel BMC competition flywheel lightened from the factory in the '60's! one to keep.also i'll need new pistons, going to rummage about in his used pistons, maybe to find a good set, if not i'll buy a new set but i'll over bore it to around 1130cc. we'll have to see. the engien i took apart today (for it's remote transmission case) was off a boat(bloody hell) and the tranny was brill! probably only used one gear.so looks like i'll have a potent little power plant here! deffo going to upgrade the cam.it's got alot of good bits with it too.i'll probably have to upgrade brakes, are cooper discs significantly less expensive than cooper s ones? or are there good drum upgrades available? also i'll need to cut off some extra plates that were welded on to fit the boat. will need a new diff case. well enjoy the pics.
