by the way it'll be a week until i can work on the motor again...but I have a question for all you anoraks out there.
My mini is a 1972 Mk3 Austin Mini 1000. It has a steering column ignition, yet I've seen other minis of this age, with centre panel mounted ignition, and mine also has the hole in the middle, presumably for that. My switch panel also consists, of , left to right, Choke, Flip switch (not later button switch) hole, flip switch, then heater cable. So, has my car been converted, or is this some weird Canadian thing? Also the cowl is one piece molded plastic, looks pretty factory, but the barrel is almost on top of the coloumn, not right in the side........thanks!
