Hello,
I'm new to the forum, so here goes....

I have a 1980 Clubman, that is currently undergoing a bare metal rebuild. It was build as a rally car by a friend around 30 years ago, before being damaged in an RTA while he was driving to work. I bought all the bits, and planned to restore it, but the project stalled and the car was put into storage until Jan this year.

I had planned to compete on the Mull Rally in October this year, but I think that it will be 2021 now.

The shell has a Safety Devices 19 point bolt-in cage, flip and removeable steel front with opening bonnet.
I will be running the VeTech wide track and brake conversion on the front, with VeTech rear hubs and backplates, KAD rear arms with custom stub axels and brake backplate spacers to wide track the rear.

The engine is a 1330cc A+ block with MED crank, large centre main strap and flywheel. The head, pistons and cam kit are from Keith Calver. It will be running the Specialist Components 5-port injection kit, and the MED front mounted cooling setup with electric water bump and dry deck setup.

Think that's it in a nutshell.

Andy

My friend lives on Mull, those roads are awesome.

I have been visiting Mull since the early 90's, and have serviced for numerous crews on the event over the years. I decided it was high time I actually did the event to see what all the fuss is about.

Hi   I bought a 1963 850 in October last year.  My first Mini although I have had a number of British classics over the years. I am the fourth  owner and it has always been a local car (Canberra Australia). it had a restoration about ten years ago ( previous owner). Now has a 1275 and Leyland gearbox cooper S disc brakes twin fuel tanks Toyota MR2 seats plus plenty other mods. Goes fabulously although the exhaust has a bit of a drone so might think about a slightly quieter muffler especially for highway driving. It is in excellent condition and I intend to keep it more or less as it is.

Hmm … it used to be a  metallic-maroon 1992 Rover Mini Sprite.

Someone before me took out the 1275 engine, but did a whole host of mods with body kit and full-black respray externally, electric windows (aargh, electrical nightmare), electric locking (aargh, another electrical nightmare), and other jobs that appear to have been reversed/removed by other owners … there are dozens of dead-end wires switches/buttons that don't seem to be connected to anything!

And now something's gone in the ignition circuit; goAttached File  AMG_3329.jpg   69.5K   0 downloadsAttached File  AMG_3324.jpg   83.85K   0 downloadsing to have to ask for help! (forgotten how to check and identify the fault!)

Hi,

My little car is as follows;

1989 Sky Rose 1330

Miglia arches

13" Superlights

Adjustable lower arms/tie rods/poly bushes

Koni adjustable dampers/HiLo's

21253 +60 pistons, 8cc dish

286 cam

HIF44 with BDL needle

LCB with maniflow system

Engine currently out being rebuilt, I've just had the head converted to unleaded.

Will gas flow it, larger valves etc.

I'm going to investigate lightening the crank and balancing it, need to get some photos of a SH crank if possible.

I have a set of completely rebuilt HS4 twins to go on, maniflow tubular inlet.

Looking to put on Maniflow LMSII race headers and make my own stainless system.

Will need to rebuild gearbox, considering an LSD or at least a cross pin diff for time being.

Once I have engine in, i'll get it set up on our rollers and set chassis geometry up and corner weight it.

Should go well, i'd like bigger power (115-120bhp) but not sure the wife will like the lack of bottom end and 8k limit.

I recently purchased a 1994 JDM Rover Mayfair 1.3i. This is my first Mini and my first project car. I am enjoying the mechanical aspects of fixing it up, but the electrical system is a nightmare.
