RAz, If you have the chance to buy molly back, do it! The old girl has life in her yet, if she only gets a cat C. Fight for a cat C if they write her off!! The rest of the panels can prolly be popped out to a "useable" state.

Maybe some kind TMF'ers could lend a hand to fix molly?

SS

yeah SS is right i think molly's saveable too, might need a few new panels and a bit of hard work but can be done, im sure theres hundreds of people on here that are up for the challenge!! including me!! :genius: :D

i'm sure you can buy a complete heritage roof skin!... just depends if the subframe has pushed the floor up badly!

hope you guys arent to stiff today! :withstupid:

Any crashed mini is repairable, it just depends on how much time and money you can/want to put in to it. And providing it isn't a Cat A or Cat B write off!

Gutted to hear about the crash peeps, i feel sorry for you, i really do. Its horrible, and the stress of dealing with theiving insurance companies after doesn't make it any better >:genius:

At least you're all safe and well hey :withstupid:

If you want to know if you're car is truely repairable you gotta see if the cars straight, there's a bit in haynes to show you how to do this, basically i think you measure all the diagonals under the car!? You don't want to be driving the car forward, looking out of the passenger window - mad4minis knows all about that :P

good luck getting it all sorted :D

. I know i can learn, but i had only just learnt a few weeks ago how to change the oil filter and the wheel!!! And 2) I dont have a garage, Molly is just sitting on my drive, and she is all opren etc now, need to cover her so she doesnt get rained on. hmmmmmm i just want to hide away in the corner somewhere..over there >> lol! :P.

having worked on cars for some time as a painter and repairer and having been in several crashes in mini's, from the pictures i would say molly is a group b write off so you should be able to salvage the parts from her that are ok. my last mini was a group b because of just a damaged inner and outer wing, front panel, headlight, grille and bonnet chrome strip. "cowers under a big rock!" they are immensely good at staying in shape when in an impact tho especially as molly rolled several times. most other cars would just be a crumpled beer can. "cough" metro "cough!" hope whiplash gets better soon and that in one way or another you make it to brighton.

Mad4mins- That bit of the car is straight. The whole back of molly is fine too!! Tis sooo typical!! GRRR

Yea, the crash has put me off Brighton a lil, i used to be there loads, not going that way tho!!

There is plenty of stuff that i can take off molly.

(yay you spent my name right!)... thats good news Raz, its still going to be a lot of work... depends if you can get it from the insurance and how badly you want to keep Molly!!!

if you did want to do it, then i'd start by ripping the roof with A/B/C posts of mini from the scrapyard.. get a new windscreen panel from somerford or bmh. i've got a pair of sound doors i might be selling soon,... new front panel and drivers side wing..... cant really say without seeing the car though!. if the subframe is ok and hasnt pushed the floor up to bad then might be do-able...

its not going to be cheap im afraid raz....... if you could rally up like 20 peeps from here and do a Dream Cars type blitz over a weekend, that might be fun...lol the 1st Annual Save A Mini From The Scrapie Rally!!...

hehe .... :withstupid:

Glad everyones ok thats the main thing, wish I could be of any help but doubt theres anything I can really do. If the insurance does right Molly off but you really want to keep her on the road you could always make a trailer from her, know it's not a nice thought of cutting her up but atleast she'd still be around in one form or another. Again my condolences and hopefully everything works out for the best.

Well the rebuild/repair begins...

Seeing it again now its not half as bad as i thought it was considering just one side is majorly damaged....

The repairs have started by succesfully pulling the car back to being square using a truck winch!!! Before being pulled out the drivers side door wasnt shutting in the right position....now it is....

Just a case of stripping down and replacing body work....thrash out floor and see what the subframe looks like...
