Well the rebuild/repair begins...

Seeing it again now its not half as bad as i thought it was considering just one side is majorly damaged....

The repairs have started by succesfully pulling the car back to being square using a truck winch!!! Before being pulled out the drivers side door wasnt shutting in the right position....now it is....

Just a case of stripping down and replacing body work....thrash out floor and see what the subframe looks like...

Neil

dont suppose your car was on the back of a flatbed going through Partridge Green at about 8.20 on Friday morning was it? If not then thats wierd, one went past me on the way to work, same colours as yours and the front end was stoved in as well!

Sorry to hear about the accident, good to hear youre all ok though, I bet your all feeling a bit stiff by now tho!

Raz, I think you should go for a mad little hot rod/convertible look, now is as good time as any! As mentioned earlier I thing a TMF dream car creation could be in order after the recent number of accidents!

I work in insurance so give me a shout if they dont explain anything properly, I'l see if I can help. (i dont do car insurance any more but used to do a lot of it!)

Get well soon to all involved!

GRR on that map it looks like its not a sharp bend but it REALLY is!!! It also looks like its a junction which its not, well to the right was, but thats not the bit we crashed on! GRRRRRRRRRRr to all of this!! Its still replaying in my mind and i HATE IT! I really do! Makes me feel sick, thinking that when we were rolling i thought we were going down a steep hill, kinda a blessing it was actually someones garden! The sorting out of the money for the peeps garden is all done and dusted which is good!

I went to work today and had to explain so many times what happpened, i just wanted to tape record it and play it everytime someone asked me! lol! Had to hold back the tears a lot too! Bless one of my friends though, i explained what happened, because she didnt know id had an accident, and she started crying!! bless!! It was hard working today since i cant move much, but im saving the pennies for another mini now! Im keeping my eye on a few :dontgetit: Ive got to!! Working tomo too. I kept looking at the clock at work thinking 'oh when to i need to change my car park ticket' then realising :'(. I had a massage tonight too and it helped soo much! i recommend that to u Ollie, Sam and Neil if you still ache! A nice hard massage!! :bah:. I normally hate massages! Best remedy, plus a nice hot bath and some ice cream ;). Oo and a hot water bottle. I have a like burn on my neck, where the seat belt cut into me! And i keep moving and a different part of my body hurts where i didnt think it was possible to ache! lol!! But im getting better and luckily not anything serious to any of us!!! Still getting random tummy pains tho :-

To be perfectly honest, it still kind of hasnt sunk in that ive had a crash, it seams so unreal, i wake up and rememeber that i have to get up earlier to walk places. Ive only been able to drive since August last year and man its amazing how quickly you get used to the novelty of having a car!!

Would love to make molly into a convertable or a trailer that would rule! lol! We will see what happens!

for what its worth, we went back today to sort things out with the gardens owners, and we deliberately went in on the route you used .
The approach to the bend was steep but just at the point where you had started braking it got a lot steeper! also the bend its self is IMHO "adverse camber" - some race tracks are banked but this was the opposite , the edge of the road looks to be lower then the inside makes it harder to get round the corner.
so with the combination of this + the weather condition + a slippery road surface would make it a hard corner anyway
while we were all up there on Thursday dont forget the fog came and went again - the fog was thick and moving around so I really believe it when i say none of you should think anything bad about yourselves for what happened - it was just a terrible set of co-incidences that happened at once.
Sadly , where you went over the edge was at the edge of the garden which meant molly hit the slope at the gardens side-I think this was what caused you to roll. If you had been 2 feet to the left you may not have rolled but you may have hit one of the other cars :'( ...... a couple of feet to the right there was a very strong looking metal gate post - worse than a roll!!
The gardens owners send their love to all and hope the aches and memories fade fast

Gawd, i dont think i could ever drive that route again but would like to see what its like in the light and non foggy. Yea thats what my mum said today, altho i was the only one that rolled, i was lucky that i didnt hit another one of the cars and seriously hurt any of us, afterall we are all more important than cars.

Thanks for coming to have a look at my car today by the way, its just a shame she is sooo messy ;), but im really grateful thanks :dontgetit:.
