The policeman (the older one,not the hottie ) said that we were driving unsafely which peed me off!! He was really patronising to me, and i really wasnt in the mood for it! He said that because i was the last car over i ACCELERATED as i saw the other cars go over...UM WHY would i do that? I know im blonde but im not stupid!!! He also said 'you obviously werenot driving safely because i came the same way and i managed to stop' What a :bah: THATS BECAUSE HE KNEW WHAT WAS COMING and HE KNEW THERE WAS A HAZARD AHEAD!!! GRRRR!!! Whereas we knew it was a bend right at the last min!!

Plus, i dont drive unsafely, because i never wanted to hurt molly :dontgetit:

Yea he was a bit of a twit, to put it nicely. If only it was my brother that was policing that night (but down in west sussex) then we would have had a MUCH better and nicerpolice man ;). I think to be honest, the moody one was saying half of that to scare us a bit (as if we wernt scared enough), because it might make us EXTRA safe when we get to drive again! But i dont care, i drive safely, wouldnt put you,me or Molly in danger, its just something that happened. My motto for life is *everything happens for a reason* so this wasmeant to happen, did happen, and tis a real eye opener to how lucky we all were and that you really should live life to the full!!

AWWW. And you all did, thank you *HUG*. When you think of us rolling now, is it all silent and slow motion? because i can remember us swearing just before when we went out of control and when we saw the other cars go over the hill, but from then its silent and slow, and scary.

Were we the only ones that rolled? What happened to mooning mini's car and Neils, did they just drive and stop or flip or what?. I said to Neil, imagine if the house had CCTV on their house and it captured it :bah: Dont think i would like to watch it but would be interesting to see what exactly happened like :-

yeh i remember rolling and seeing and feelin everything flying about in car and alot of swearing lol

neils mini got around the bend more and rolled over the bank as he slowed down more ithink

sams 106 i think took the impact of the bank as 106 would have alot more giving suspension then the mini and rolled over it and down over side

but as neil said he looked to the side and saw molly nose first in the air

I certainly didn't get that impression from him later ..... but in police terms , some of them think that anyone involved in any accident was driving too fast - purely 'because they didn't avoid it ...... a totally inpractical idea - if you drove all the time thinking "there could be a fog bank round the corner and there may be a severe corner in it" then you would never get anywhere.
everything in life involves a risk and we all have a different outlook on that risk. the police have to try to do the best they can to get the balance between being too soft and too harsh with people - i'm sure if you had a chat with him another day without all the shock etc of the accident and he wasn't trying to sort the mess out as quickly as possible the his comments would not sound as harsh.hopefully!
Puzzled about the accelerating comment i really dont believe you did ...... but one fact I've picked up in racing - if your are braking hard on tarmac , then leave the tarmac and go onto wet grass ..... the car will accererate due to the simple fact that wet tarmac has more grip than wet grass ..... i've seen it happen so many times at races. dont know what the logic is - something tedious about mass and slip co-efficiants i suppose :bah: Dont want to defend him but maybe he was thinking of this but explained it badly?

eeek! Yea we went nose first then a few times to the side, must have looked awful, and felt it :S. because i remember they were running towards molly when we had only just stopped moving! Arg :- now i remember the sound of each time molly hit the floor :ermm:

Yea i get i, maybe he meant the car accelerated as in went faster, not that i did, because i certainly wouldnt do that. Yea i know they have to see both sides, i just hope he didnt see us as boy/girl racing teenagers because that is NOT what i am!We all worked v hard for that licence! All in all tho, everone was very helpful and efficient so got to be thankful for that *thumbs up* :dontgetit:

as far as i can work it out:

Neils car hit the garden , and dug in at an angle and stopped instantly
Sams Pug went staight over the bank but he bounced off the pergola and the freshly dug garden was soft so he sunk and that stopped him
you left the road at an angle, the front on your side hit the side of the garden which flipped her up on her nose ,and she rolled onto the roof and over onto her side..... sheer bad luck - a footto the left and you probably wouldn't have rolled ..... but would have hit the pug instead
i think :'(

Ah right! Makes sense!! Wow your clever, you werent even there but worked it out! ;)
:dontgetit:

Yea i remember leaving the road at the angle because me and ollie did go kinda round the bend because i realised it was a bend as soon as i saw thru the fog. eeek!!

Yea now, thinking bout it,its better i rolled isnt it, rather than hitting another car, putting us more in danger. At least the ground was soft ish...Im so suprised none of us hit our heads.Lucky

sorry to hear about this all of you but as people have said, cars can be replaced, lives can't (although I'd be gutted to hell if I decked mine)........ I'm sure you will be able to buy other mini's now, maybe a new project or get the crashed mini's fixed!!!

guess this serves as a reminder to all to take it easy in this weather, its better to get their late than not at all....... was really foggy on my way back from liverpool on saturday!!!!

another thought - i think their impression of you all improved after they had been with you all for a while and saw how obviously upset and concerned , not just for yourselves but for others including the garden owners - that probably why they mellowed to you all
also , sadly there are alot with very different attitudes who dont value their licence (or maybe dont bother to get one!) ..... remember that car full of ******* that went by having a good look and a giggle ... in a saxo or similar? The police have to deal with that sort as well

Not really clever - just i've been paid to watch a lot of accidents and motorsport safety is what i specialise in

its really an awful job to be paid to get to watch racing ;)
