Thank you dudei. Will take a look now.

Anyone know the site where I can check if my MG engine really is an MG engine?

Just been looking at Vmax's website. If I use an MG block and buy the £1850 kit I can get 130bhp. Would involve new head carb etc but I wouldnt have to bother with a 1293 or 1380.

Thanks Pie, you have a pm!

Heres some pictures of the KOD father taken yesterday. The paintwork isnt that bad, its just the ice making it look like that. The Alloys are being cleaned and will be back on it soon. I had to take them off to get the KOD father onto the trailer. He wouldnt fit with the alloys on!

Im looking forward to buying the new grille and getting the wheels back on, makes him look so much better. its dis heartening seeing him in such a state.
I have decided I am going to refurb the roof rack as well. Its going to be black and the wood will be very dark stained. at the moment its corroded and the woods laqure is all cracked and flacking off.

will post pictures up soon.
its looking a bit of a state.

mike you can always come over and take a look sometime if you want? (the mini that is.... no crude comments you lot!)

Yep the KOD father is back in London.
I say back, hes never actually been to London before! well, not with me.

It wasnt smooth sailing. Because my trailer is so crappy, I always have to change the wheels on the KOD father to get him on the trailer because of his huge 175's. The 2 back wheels however, we adament that they were not going to come off. after breaking a couple of tools I got the rear drivers side off and changed but the rear passanger side was stuck and staying that way. He would rather break tools than budge so I gave up and left that wheel on. Luckily it didnt seem to get to damaged on the trailer.
I also couldnt find the keys. They werent where I thought I had left them. So I also had to bust off the steering lock and ignition barrel. (yes I know most mini keys fit other minis but being the KOD father the little git wasnt allowing the 2 mini keys I did have to turn.) So if anyone has a key and barrel for a 1970+ mini (normal barrel with electrics and steering lock) and they dont want it please let me know! Before removing the steering lock I attempted to lift the front of the mini up with my engine craine that I Was also collecting. I opened the bonnet and lifted the car up by rapping a rachet strap around the subframe and then attaching it to the engine craine. This did lft the front wheels but didnt allow the car to be moved anywhere as the craine was on mud and just dug in. I thought that was going to happen. Still while it was up there I changed the front wheels. And then left the car down, Then realised that the weight of the car had completely buckeled the rachet. Its bent and twisted and looks very bizzare! Took a while to free the strap and luckily I had a spare rachet and hook I could use with the strap, other wise the KOD father wouldnt have been sucure enough on the trailer and most likely would have ended up bouncing down the M4, or M25!

So with the lock off, wheels changed we loaded him onto the trailer, drove home (most of which I did alone as the guy who game with me- Mumzad ie ticktack felt it was all to much for him and he shut down and snored for a good hour on the way back)

Getting back, we unloaded the KOD father, pushed him into postion, and I headed back to Swindon to drop the trailer off and pick up a couple of boxes. All in all it went well. Finished the trip around 4am where I got to hannas in Padington. Then had to go home because I had left the keys for hannas mini there (it was the car we had driven to pick up the hire car and was still parked up there so we needed those keys.)
so we went from paddington to Chingford then on to Paddock wood to drop the car off. We got there at around 8:30am after passing Tom on the motorway.

I was shattered! as you can imagine very tired but it also took about 2 days for my muscles and bones to stop aching!

Nothing ever goes to plan does it mate but hey atleast you got it back with you now and you can get it ready for Newquay
P.s should of got me to help i would of lost the trailer somwhere on the m4 mate :genius:

Hello spencer long time no speak! Hope your well. Looking forward to catching up at the shows next year! And you loosing the trailer on the M4 would have been the last thing i would have needed! You know the rules! If we tow, I drive!

Right, the MG engine is now out of the KOD father and the good news is it now turns over. Del thinks that it has an A series starter motor on it and being a A+ MG engine thats what jammed the engine up. its just a shame we had to take the engine out to find it out! Anyway its getting treated to some new gaskets and a few nuts and bolts and dels going to have a quick look at a few things then its going back in.
