Hooray, I can imagine Neil's uber happy now :P >_<

id be alot happier if i handt spent ages ripping the engine out for no reason!

wasnt there oil under the car on the motorway? where did that come from then??

you're getting confused with the old engine David, you silly boy :P

The engine on riv run was the 1293 that put a con rod through the engine. that didnt seize. that wrote everything in the engine off. this is the MG engine i had sitting around. I paid to have it fitted before L2B'07 but iy seized after turning over a few times, or so i thought. turns out it was just the wrong starter motor.

poser :withstupid:

that he is, that he is :withstupid:

Oi! i was actually trying to keep warm. it was del wanting the pics. It was bloody freezing!

There was a fair few minis in Sinclair road today.

As well as Dels little collection mainly made up of my old minis (The Hobbit- Clubby estate in Garage,) My first mini bought from a scapyard and an old Scap mini we got for spares thats been smashed in the front and the back (neither of us were driving it or even knew about the car when this happened) there was also Dels neightbour but one out washing her Rover mini with webasto roof, hannas mini (Freddie) was in the street and Dels housemate Mumzads mini was also out there.

So there was a fair few of them!

The 1293 was apparantly well machined but badly built. thats why it few the con rod out

Bought

-gasket set,
-tax disc holder
-lower suspension arm bolt
-head studs, washers and bolts
-gaiters

didnt buy
-new thick black bonnet straps (they only do the cheap nasty ones in black and the thick ones in beige :( so will have to find somewhere else to get the thick black bonnet straps. not buying the thin ones again there rubbish)

-New grille (didnt like it once I saw it. its not what i am after. I want a wide slate grille in black. this one was like a thin plastic/very thin metal grille. so if anyone has a wide slate OR mk1 grille they dont want, let me know! any condt as long as its straight and not bent etc. I will be spraying it black.) I have a grille I can use for temp measures.

-New barrels for the locks and keys (out of stock)

But I also managed to get hold of thanks to Terry (I owe you!)
- x2 Starter motors (one has seen better days however)
-steering column with ignition barrel.

So I now have everything needed to get the car up and running and back on the road!
going down to do a few things to it tomoz. First thing I will do is change the fuel tank and clean out all the rubbish thats being "stored" inside it.
