Going back to the brake bias, I seem to remember someone telling me that as long as you cannot reach the valve from the drivers seat it is perfectly legal

Dan ive read all about that performance meter and i am going to have one, i would be interested to know if the screen is backlit? as i mostly use the car at night when i can see headlights in the distance on country roads. thanks mate

hi there, no the meter is not backlit unfortunatley, but i solved that problem by getting one of those little pocket led keyring lights from halfords, i think they are called a cyberlight or something, then i just stick it to the dash pointing at the unit.
its a nice bright light so seeing it at night is no problem

another quick update, the block is now bare and ready to be booked in for some work, it came apart really well and everything looks to be in good nick, shame i'm only using the original rods!

standard rod compared to my (about 3/4 finished) polished rod. its a pretty time consuming job.

Have you ground the lip running down the middle of the rod off. If so, does this not affect the balance of the rods or are you going to get them balanced. (Or am I just talking sh*te  )

i am going to have them balanced, the lip round the middle is the marking where the rods are cast, polishing it off supposedly reduces the chance of stress so i thought i'de give it a go.

dont wreck the 998 clubman, fine put a turbo on it but they had the 1098 as standard from 1975 so if you do a 1098 use a '76 + car
