The idea is to keep it looking "fairly" stock on the outside, maybe even a little "rough" so when the 1380 goes in, along with the tricked up handling bits, it'll be one that you wised you never took on

Yours is awesome too, I envy you because of it, my Van is too original to personalize tooo much

Its a dryframe... so uses dry fitting kits
I think there are two types of bushes for dry subframes, as i think
on the post 76 subby two bushes are larger.

Oh well, their only pennies from Minispares... if they end up being wrong, I'll order the other set

For now, I just hope soaking the subby bolts with Plusgas (releasing agent) each night, is going to be enough to stop them sheering off....

That must be one of if not the worst job on a mini, removing rear subframe front mounting bolts, without shearing
them off!!!

Its billet SW5-07, looks fantastic, looks like its built well, much better than their re-profiled SW5....
Nick also said that I will quite easily break the 100ft/lb in torque mark

Just awaiting my Minispares order now

Strip it, cleaned it, and now awaiting for it to dry so I can prime and paint it...
and I am STILL awaiting my parcel from Minispares with the new bits that can on it...

Wire brushed and scraped off all the crud and C**p from underneth the load bay, then Waxoiled all underneth (PITA that is) after it had gone off "a bit" I went round and sprayed the seams with spray of waxoil... looks like liquid bogies

He's looks sorry for himself...

Also started to finish off my short engine...
Got the cam in, pump on, and dry fitted the timing chain, I need a few shims to make it perfectly in line.
Other than, my engine is NEARLY done

Oh an UPS are useless!!! Minispares sent out my new bits for my subby on a Saturday AM delivary... its now 19:40, and still bugger all! (the tracking number even says in dispach - on time!) Stupid thing

I put some more PlusGas on them this morning, and thought, I'd tighten them to "crack" them, and well they felt soooo smooth and easy, I just decided to rip the darn thing off...
Does all look good, and NOT ONE bit of rot in sight

Hes really solid for a 40yr old.
Hows your old girl coming along Freddy?

got to sort out rear valance , it's a bit narrow !! so i'll have to split it to
make it fit. then strip and clean the subby.
hope to get it rolling in a week or so ,so i can move it out the garage
and have a bloody good tidy up.
By the way the old girls got a bit of earache at the mo,!

But to be honest, I want to move away from steelies, I'd like some nice alloys. I am getting a set of W&P arches too, so keeping the "classic" look...
I had thought about a set of 6x10 Deep Dish Minilites, with the Grey centres (like mine now, but deeper)
