I'm owed a track day by easy track, or is it bookatrack I can't remember, anyway so i'll probably end up at donington or bedford autodrome as they're not too far away.

I'm planning on ditching the glass and going for poly windows, carbon doors, boot floor and lid and maybe a few other items here and there if funds allow.

I've done a hell of a lot of work else where though so don't get too excited until you get your car on the scales

Although a cage makes a big difference, as i've got about 40 kilos of roll cage in my car. If you don't have a cage you'll do it easy....although you'd be foolish not to in a quick mini.

Small update today, stripped the block completely ready to take it away to be dipped and cleaned so I can enamel it.

Pistons were sent to KAD last monday, they phoned me on thursday to say they were done and will be home on wednesday. Ordered a valve lapping tool so I can freshen up the head, as well as all the necessary sundries to rebuild the engine and gearbox.

Panels were ordered last week along with a nibbler to start hacking away at the bodywork. At this rate the engine will be back together in a week or two and i'll be waiting on the bodywork.

Your nibbler wasnt very good then! Yes they do cut steel, or stainless if you want. I find a grinder with a slitting blade is best though.

Wouldnt like to have to lap all them valves in! That'll keep you busy for a while Dan!

Nibbler and valve lapping tool arrived today which is nice. Kad phoned me to say the pistons are in the post and should be with me tomorrow.

Also managed to salvage some scaffold bar to try and make a spit roast so I can get the shell rotated and change the sills and other bits.

I'm booking a week off work pretty soon so I can get stuck in at it, theres plenty to keep me going at the mo!

Pistons are back, more parts arrived today as well....a panels, sills, gasket sets, gearbox bearings, engine bearings etc etc.

Going to start stripping the shell back tomorrow before I attack it with the grinder.

A little bit more progress....picking my block up this afternoon so I will be starting to rebuild the engine this weekend. Started on the body too, stripping the loom and dash out at the mo.

Taken a leap of faith and just ordered a swiftune dog box after hearing all the good reports on them.
