sounds like real good fun (understatment alert!!!)

when the transmission was built did you have a style of gearing in mind, like acceleration or top end? surly the lap times going to greatly depend on these factors, horses for courses mines going to be tarmac rally mini so thats different style again, some bits wont be well for laps

Yes I knew exactly what I was going to put in it when I built it, mainly after learning from my brothers past experiences.....he's had his current mini since 1989!! and has done pretty much everything you can think of since then....from mildly tuned 998 to fire breathing 5 port 1380 to KAD powered monster.

I run a 3.9 final drive, Jack Knight dog box and 1:1 drops which on 13's gives me 120mph at 8000rpm, although i've been known to pull 8500 plenty of times :(

It would pull 5.2ish to 60, according to the SPA speedo I run. Timed off the rear wheel and GPS verified I'd say thats a pretty accurate time, which for a front wheel drive car is pretty impressive. Slightly dissapointing to 100 though being 14 seconds, I hope to knock as near to a second off that as I can.

I did a run up the quarter a couple of years ago which was a 14.1 @ 99mph, although I fluffed a gearchange(which you can see on my google vids) I'd imagine that cost me no more than a tenth or two. I'd be happy with mid to low 13's I think, which I don't think is impossible given that I plan to get to around 600kilos or under and push 170hp.

I'm more interested in getting it on a few trackdays though as I love the twisty bits, especially after doing a couple with my MR2....

do you still have the pink slip from the drag? can acuratly work out the acceleration time from that. saying that sure yourd want to try again without the bad change maybe do a few skipping 1st or somthing just test the water basicly, then again the engines apart now so will have to wait

will it be done for minishow down?

It won't be done for the showdown I don't think.

When it is done I'll probably do one run again, like before just out of curiosity (although in fairness I did 2 runs last time) as i'm not really into drag racing that much.

Sorry to continue with everyones questions but could you tell me if you know what your mini weighs currently? I think your mini will be quite similar in terms of power and weight, but I think the gearing of the Honda box compared to yours will be quite different. I'll join you and Dog on the track! :(

It currently weighs about 400 kilos because its in bits and hasn't got an engine

But seriously, when i'm finished with it I expect it to be no more than 600 kilos and to push 170hp.

640 with a full tank.....used to be 250hp per tonne, aiming for as near to 300 as I can this time.

Definitely, we'll get something sorted when they're all working properly, it'll be great to show up some of the more exotic machinery on track too....all in a few humble mini's

We could all meet up at the 'Ring...

*cough* :P

If not, Castle Combe will probably be a good opportunity, or Dev is planning a couple of track days I believe.
