sounds like the same one chap, although i got it from a bloke in Walsall.

headlining must have got refitted properly at some point as it was ok untill i took it out, but yeah the brake piping setup was different to the normal metro conversion route.

Very small world indeed :-

the headlining was fairly well fitted, but had some creases near the back? as it was me who fitted it lol the girl who bought it to us was from walsall, so could of been her dad u bought it from or she sold it to to the bloke u bought it from! i wanted to make her an offer when she collected it, but i didnt get chance too as wasn't at work when she picked it up lol your doin a great job with it though, i wasnt keen on the alloys it had fitted when i first saw it either! knew i recognised it!!

i built loads of minis there, n serviced many many more, so wouldnt surprise me if i see more minis on here that i have worked on at some point!

Forgot to update this after a trip to the rollers the other week, had a good day out and finally managed to crack 200hp :P

Not long now till the engine gets pulled for a full rebuild and some lighter internals as it's smoking pretty nicely. it's done well so far considering it's a near stock A+ bottom end. Thinking of going 1380 with some forged accralites, lightened crank and rods and a new Turbo Phil head with bigger exhausts than my current morspeed head, need to get that turbo spinning nicely.

graph is power/torque @ wheels, engine power is in the table underneath the graph.
power drops off after 5.5k because i hastily shut the bleed valve too much after seeing the boost go a fair way over 20psi, my gauge over reads by 2psi and only goes to 20 so i'm guessing that power was at ~20psi, couldn;t get the laptop to talk to the jolt so couldn't datalog it unfortunately.

1st run was at std actuator pressure ~15psi.

Still pretty ******* chuffed though

Well impressive, that bottom end has lasted well with nearly 200bhp going through it for that time too, should see some even better figures after the rebuild. Do you think large bore is going to be ok for turbo? A lot of people go for the smaller overbores on turbo. Also if you decide to go for the large over bores maybe it would be better to start at 73mm so that you could rebuild again in future for block longevity.

EDIT: sorry for the essay, i'm thinking about going turbo one day.

the trouble with turbo motors is the choice of pistons, you need a decent amount of dish to keep the CR down and you can only get pistons to suit in 1293 or 1380 easily. I'll probably end up going forged next time so will more than likely be 18cc accralites in 73.5mm, i'm still gutted i haven't found the limits of these 21253's to be honest.
Not overly concerned about block life either, 1275's are still plentiful and cheap enough for a bare block, i've got a stash of cranks, rods and a spare 1275 head just incase too.

There's plenty of people running 1380 turbo's to prove the old bore flex myth wrong so i don't see it being an issue with mine, if i do end up 1380 that is. still fancy an 8k rpm 1293 lump if i'm honest.

Fair enough, i wasn't sure if there were any issues with the block flex and all that with that set up. The new spec sounds good though, keep us updated.

not any decent ones yet really, went to avon park and was having major boost issues so could only manage a 14.7 @ 95mph. going back in october if she holds together till then to try and get a low 14. anything quicker than 14.5 will do though as thats what my mates run in his, lol.

didn't get chance to get down, had a few little issues to sort out on the car.

Went down to Avon park yesterday though for the last one of the season to try and get a few runs in but it was rained off :errr:

Will have to try and get to pod when it re-opens in january i think.
