i'm gonna take a guess it's passed because (my theory here) if ya mini you've spent rebuilding goes for it's mot and fails you'd be on here by now saying no go, however if it passes do you think you could come home from the mot station straight away.... i think not i would be out and about in it!!

Just thought I'd put up recent events

-Turbo lumps off to Benross tomorrow to be rebuilt at 1293 spec

Brought a few goodies for the turbo engine, other then that not alots happened. Just been pootling round to uni and back etc. Will post when actual event's occur....

Just an update of what I've been keeping myself busy with most of the afternoon















All in all, a preety oily A+, nothing exciting really..

Off to Benross tomorow, should be comming back a 1293 with near enough new everything crank/block related

Right, thought I best post up a spec of the new engine and what not...

Block - 1293cc using Omega 10cc dished +20 pistons
Crank regrind, new shells and thrusts
Kent 276 cam, new oil pump and followers
Duplex timing gear
Oil Gallery plugs removed and fitted with Allen headed 3/8th stubs an new core plugs
Painted +30bhp BMC Green!
Head - Chambers enlarged to 28cc (Comp ratio around 8:5:1, good for around 20psi)
New unleaded hardened valves with new seats, guides and oils stem seals
Mild porting too. Double Valve springs 180lb's

Going to be using the standard box for now, aswell as drop gears. Should see about 130bhp@10psi, but with massive torque figures due to the cam and turbo which is what I want mainly. When funds have recovered from the build, I'm going to start to build a SC box, with Minispares Evolution drop gears using the timkin idler gear, so the I should be able to wind the boost up and go to around 16-17 psi, which should see 160-170 bhp

The short motor should hopefully be back next sunday providin the cam shows up before wednesday. Been spending copious amounts of money on bit and bobs recently thou, fuel lines, injection rated fuel hose, boost controller (Under bonnet I don't trust myself enough to have an in car controller) Air ducting pipe, airfilter, MPI fuel tank and pump.

I need to ring Maniflow on monday and get my exhaust ordered so thats ready for the transplant. Aswell as order my minispares 4 pin diff, to get that can be fitted while the gearbox is easier to handle.

Biiig minispares box full of a super 2 core rad, thermostat, new hoses, water pump, 70amp alternator, fuel pressure regulator, 3/8" copper fuel line, 10mm rubber fuel pipe, few fittings, a few gaskets.

Lads at maniflow got my exhaust to me today which is also awesome.

Engines back from the machine shop, cranks being collected tomorrow, then it should all be built soon providing this cam turns up after a bit of confusion with the postie!

It's all looking thumbs up for the christmas install!
