OK here is the klaxon horn - the photos just about show how it is fitted, the bracket is a door hinge bracket which was lying around in Pete's garage and it's just screwed to the cylinder head bolt and the horn

We used a 5-pin relay to allow the horn to be on the normal button, with an extra switch on the dash to determine which horn goes off.

The cable tie is attached to the oil dipstick to make it easier to get out! The good thing about the way the horn is mounted is that it's easy to remove should I need to, to get to something underneath. Hence keeping it so simple, and the wires connecting it are long too so it will just about sit on the floor if I need to take it out

I recorded it too (upsetting a neighbour who came out to see what the racket was) but I can't seem to upload WAV files anywhere

Lol! I haven't done that much :P You've just done exceptionally little >_<

No I haven't had it RR'd but Josh wants his done and if you do too we could all book somewhere and get it done together.

Mine seems to run fine but is using alot of fuel, probably partly due to doing short journeys but I suspect fuelling needs a tweak, no idea what the emissions are like atm.

Are you going to the meet in 2 weeks? It might move to Aylesbury because of lack of interest from Oxfordians. If you'd go to Aylesbury but not Oxford then put your name down for AY only because it's looking more likely. Since mentioning possibility of it moving the other day, a load more people signed up ;) So sign up!!

i have just jumped from page 7 to 20 but am wondering if you have got the stage 1 kit fitted yet and what difference you think it makes, and if minty still has dodgey idle at roundabouts it sounds like you need the air fuel mixture playing with

Hi Jack :) (welcome to TMF, see you only joined a few days ago)

You only needed to go a couple of pages back from the end to see the stage 1, lol

I fitted it with alot of help from a couple of friends in mid-September, it has made alot of difference! :P The car feels much nippier and responsive (and louder, rar!), it has also eliminated the idle problem, presumably it's running a little richer now, I don't know! Could also be due to new gaskets sealing better, almost every join was leaking before

I haven't had the mixture fiddled with since I had the kit fitted and I must admit I'm not in too much of a hurry since it seems to be running well, the only problem I've found is that it seems to be using alot of fuel which suggests perhaps it's running too rich... although it might just be because it tends to be used on short journeys :ermm: I do intend to have the fuelling checked at some point, honest  hehe

Why do you ask, are you considering doing the same to your mini? Stick it all in a project thread if so ;D
