well i brought my mini in april but wasnt old enough to drive it on the road and stuck a stage one kit on in june but i didnt have enough money to insure it because of that liitle bits that needed doing
i took it out for the first time on saturday and it was very fun but i think it might be running a bit lean because the acceleration is so much better when the choke is out i was just wondering if it is worth doing

Could be... is it better when it's warmed up?

When I start the Mini from cold I have to leave the choke out longer than I used to otherwise it hesitates really badly

Once it's warmed up it's fine though, and idle is steady at 800rpm.

If yours still feels asthmatic when it's warmed up it may need checking. If (like me) you don't know what to do your local village garage etc should be able to do it THe mechanics in my local Motor Spares much prefer old cars... ones you can fix without a laptop!

im a second year apprentice mechanic at my local garage, lol

the bloke that i work with knows alot about mini's he has a clubby estate with a 1340 in it and its quick we are in the process of building me a 1330 because i cant afford cooper S con rods to make a 1340

i have much more know how on injection engines but he knows everything about everything especially minis

i will be slowly working on mine now (he is called steve by the way, steve austin), take the approach to him how you have to minty, but hopefully L2B next year mine should be looking sex, hopefully

but of course i need to pass me driving test and not drive on a provisional

back to the piont it was the first run it has been on in six months i think it was just a bit clogged up by the time i was getting back it was going good enough for someone who hasnt even passed their driving test
