I have chrome strip ready and waiting but need to touch up those rust spots at the front first :D

And I do like cute :) hehe

Your mini looks pretty good in the avatar Chris! But as I well know, a photo can hide a multitude of sins :w00t:

I am planning to Stage 1 my mini so getting rid of the peashooter exhaust :w00t:

It's all standard at the moment, I'm sure it still doesn't idle quite right, although the main problem is sorted - the vacuum advance pipe had fallen off :w00t: lol

Hopefully Stage 1 and a rolling road session which I hope to do at MITP should sort it out nicely :w00t:

Haha, in fairness the bodywork on mine is pretty good for it's age. The only rust spots are the drivers side A panel... the passenger side has been filled in with filler and isn't repairable whereas the rusty one is! There's a very slight bit of rust along the seams and some bubbling along the bottom of the doors, but they're coming off soon anyway because the skin is seperated from the frame on the drivers door :D

I suppose they've all got their problems (especially 22 years old ones!) I'm just thankful I can use mine daily with no problems!

What RPM does yours idle at, or don;t you have a rev counter? After servicing & tuning mine it was idling at 800rpm but it's slowly risen to about 1100-1200 now :s

Why on earth would I put big arches over 12x4.5 wheels?! :w00t:

Once it's warmed up it idles at 7-800rpm which is fine and dandy, but if you are driving with the choke in and stop at a roundabout the revs drop to about 3-400 and - while it has never konked out completely - I think that's mainly because I learnt the heel-toe method of keeping a car going when stopping in traffic!

If you're stationary and blip the throttle it drops to 3-400 too and then recovers.

It doesn't always do it now, it always did before but having reattached the vacuum advance pipe it's only occasional and generally not as bad. Still drive with the choke partly out though just in case, I keep it so it idles at about 1000 when warmed up and then it doesn't suffer from idle drop at roundabouts.

Silly Mini :w00t:

Minty must have been a bargain - did they throw in that foxy chick in the driver's seat for free?

Idling tip: adjust the fast idle screw a little closer then you can hold him on a faster tickover using the choke without running rich.

Could be your ignition is ever so slightly over retarded.

Minty cost £411 off eBay in November with tax til February and MOT til September, so yes he was a bargain :D

The foxy chick is my 14 year old sister :D lmao

Thing is the car idles fine normally, but when you either blip the throttle when stationary or declutch from high-ish speed (ie at roundabouts) it drops right down until you think it's going to stall... then normally recovers by itself (sometimes needs help)

It also runs on sometimes when you turn the engine off, most notably last time I got petrol, some poncy twunt decided he needed to tell me "the timing's out love" :w00t: yes thanks mate I'd noticed there was something wrong :w00t:

Well next time you can tell him it's an interesting ignition fault since you've turned the ignition off.

14 :w00t: must be the dirty windscreen well that's my excuse.

I can say she's a pretty girl without looking a total perve can't I?

She is pretty, more so than me that's for sure! She's somewhat more of a girly girl too, doesn't care for cars like I do :w00t:

I don't want wide wheels CarNation, that's not the look I want! So many people want wide whels and wide arches, I prefer how the old minis look, classic styling, narrow wheels which just peep out past the lip along the side :w00t:

Very nice Lisa. Just so you know, I dont think the rolling road at MITP will be what your after - I reckon they will just do a power run to see what its making, not tune it up. You need to take it to a mini specialist for that.

I've got one cream seat :D

I will have 2 cream cobra classics by next weekend hopefully, planned to cover the rear bench too but leave the other bits brown - thought about a cream steering wheel too but might be hard to find :w00t:

Just want to break up the brown but leave the possibility of returning it to it's original state :w00t:
