I've got chrome wipers and GB badge sitting in the car at the moment but I'm not sure how to get the old wipers off?

Find yourself an open ended spanner that will fit between the arm and the spindle / nut and use that to lever 'em off with. Put a towel or summet around the spindle to protect your

I have just been printing photos to send to the insurance company for the Agreed Valuation (hoping for £1,800) and have a small problem... they need a photo of the engine.....

If I take things off the engine I won't know where they came from to put them back on again

And I don't know what paint it'd need, do you have to use special paint for engines? Surely I don't have to paint the whole engine?!
I don't know why the engine bay has to look good anyway, it all works *grumble* I prefer driving it to cleaning it *grumble*

A £5 pot of engine lacquer would transform that - might not last long without a thorough degreasing though.

Edit: What's engine lacquer, isn't lacquer just stuff you put over paint to make it shinier? (don't laugh at me!)

Can you put normal paint on an engine? Or does it have to be special stuff? What about the radiator? Or should I just borrow an engine shield and put that over it for the photo
lol

you're right Lacquer would be colourless by rights.
Halfords or similar with have little pots of engine paint/enamel/lacquer in various colours - It would be fine to use on everything under the bonnet save the exhaust. Silver spray cans, for wheels etc, do a good job alloy bits too.
Still don't think you have much to worry about though.
