Damn that was my plan, but dad really did a very good job of trying to talk me out of it... it would take ages, and so much effort.... whereas painting... TSSSSSSSSSSS (that's a spray can) and you're done

Maybe I'll paint it... then if I'm not pleased with it, try the vinyl route :xxx:

Oh and the engine looks the same as it did before, it hasn't stopped raining til today so I haven't bothered :D

The Argos catalogue was for house stuff :genius: Moving is so expensive! If it gets foamed up I can get another for free :P

if that dash is made of MDF you need to seal it first before painting

at work we use watered down emulsion or PVA glue

but i dont know how spray paint will sit on that

Oh right, PVA! Lol Don't think I've got any of that... Sure we've got some emulsion I could wash over though. Got acrylic paints somewhere, that could be fun :D

I bought a dash like yours and painted it myself. You'll need some sort of sealant as a first coat or the mdf will just suck all the paint up. I brushed some mdf primer on first and sanded that flat. Next I sprayed a few coats of normal primer sanding in between coats and then a couple of coats of colour. To finish it off a coat of lacquer made it nice and shiny. Took quite a while but you need to take your time if you want a nice finish.

that looks really nice simon, but you have to bear in mind that this is mili (millsy) that we're talking about. You process requires both dedication and patience :shifty:

I have dedication and patience, and I'm a perfectionist so I will make it look good! :) And you will help >_<

And stop calling me Millsy, it's a boy's name :shifty: (and in no way related to my name either!)
