when do you think your going to start the dash lisa? or is it going to be a "wait till its warmer so you can do the work in the garage"? bloomin winter

I was going to do it this weekend, that's the plan anyways. Still waiting for a couple of bits, paid last weekend but no sign yet

I drove my Mini today for the first time in 2 weeks

He's running rich, and the exhaust is popping (as a result of it running rich, I'm told), the old dash is rattling and it was a bit chilly because the heater doesn't work so I had to keep the window open to stop it misting up But it was so fun

Well!

Today I went to my parents' house to see the Mini (I moved at the end of December so am now separated from my baby)... It was a bit dusty... And had pretty much no water in it ... And took about 5 minutes to start But we got there in the end, the exhaust was popping loads and it was hesitating a bit, better once it warmed up though. Poor min-min, upset I left it for so long obviously!

I also finally did something with the dash - don't get overexcited but I primered it, and it's in the shed drying - taking ages as it's so cold I will probably go back tomorrow to sand it and maybe stick a coat of paint on it Only thing is deciding what colour to paint it I was going to do it cream to match the seats & wheels, as I have a tin of Hammerite lying around, but I had a fleeting thought I could paint it green to match the car, and now I wonder if that would be better... I also have to source some primer (could have sworn I had some, grrr) so I can do the arches - yes, they're still white

I parked it against the garage door for a bit and when I started it up again and moved it so I could open the door and put it away, it had left a lovely black circle on the door from the exhaust!

Methinks I need to get the fuelling sorted out, it's running way too rich, and I think I need to replace the radiator as it's getting beyond a joke, it's always rhubarbing empty!

No can do, car and dash are 3 miles away, and it's dark now, sowwi I didn't take my camera with me

I will take a pic of the garage door tmrw if the exhaust mark is still there, it's extreme lmao

The dash looks pretty average, just a brush-primed mdf dash

The radiator looks completely normal, until you take the cap off - the cap pings into 3 pieces when you take it off

Aaaaaand... yeh, nothing else to report as I didn't have normal primer so didn't get the arches done
