Hi all, got back from my first MITP and I was disappointed, mainly because of the weather. I had been looking forward to this weekend for weeks. I had planned to take my 3 yr daughter & 6 yr old son camping, but put it off becuase of the weather. So I was up at 7am today washing my car yeah in the rain, shouldnt have bothered as within 1 minute of arriving at Santa Pod my car was a total mess. Its never seen mud or rain like that before so got a fun day tomorrow cleaning it and polishing it. I was disappointed also as I put my car in the for sale area but got no interest, cost £10.00, I was expecting more traders than there was. The highlight for me was the fact my 6 yr son was excited and stayed with me from 10am to 4pm when we left, without moaning, unfortunately my 3 yr old had to leave with my girlfriend around 1pm. If it wasnt for the 1/4 mile racing not sure how I could of entertained him. So thanks guys and girls for all of you who took part in entertaining us, especially the jet & Z Cars.

Hoping for a better MITP next year.

I am hoping for better weather for Stanford Hall

Cheers

i had a quality weekend, camping was a laugh despite being carried into the gazebo,

driving in the mud was fun almost like being a crab as i was sliding sideways not forwards,

did the rwyb, first run could have been better but only got off the start as my throttle cable came off ;D but after was fine. didnt get any pictures and had to leave my tent there as it was full of water and mud

was that the little yellow and blue one?? we were contemplating driving through it!!

loved it!!! Only thing i was a bit annoyed about was waiting 2 1/2 hrs to clean the car so we cud go up the strip, hence didn't get a chance to go see many other stands :- . But despite that, and the rain, it was ace great to put names to faces, as always, and playing about on the muddy fields ;D

I did indeed! I also wondered why the shop that was there wasn't better advertised (it had a lot of stuff that I'm sure many would have found useful) and also why all the trade stands were put in the mud when there was a huge tarmac'd area available!!

It wasn’t bad, shame it had dried up just as everyone was staring to leave, unfortunately the 25 wasn’t there due to a rather up himself mot tester failing it one very small minor item and not seeing since and fixing it there and then but deciding it would be better to take the car away and bring it back on Monday for it to be fixed and a full re-test done (have no intentions on paying).

So I got a lift there and back with Mike, not the most comfortable mini in the world but hay ho, but it did mean I could have an extra half hour in bed.
Unfortunately on the way there someone had crashed a blue mini in to a barrier on the roundabout just after the land rover garage just past Newport Pagnell, too much right foot me thinks, couldn’t get any picks due to being strapped in by the harnesses, seat bolted directly to the floor meaning I could only just see over the dash. Lol

We saw a 4x4 trying to get out of a field back on to the road, I haven't a clue how they got in there but their first attempt to get up the bank caused them to nearly roll over ;D :ermm:

But it looked as though they were getting out ok when I looked in my mirror after passing them, must have been scary though!

Sounds like alot of people didn't allow for the weather today! Or just forgot how to drive :-
