They certainly do! :w00t:  Although I'm going to have to contact Nitron and ask them exactly how I adjust these things! :teehee:

Bought some hi-tensile bolts today to bolt up the tower mounts. The existing bolts I had, the thread was FUBAR on two of them, so I just got some mate bolts of similar length, along with 250 nuts and 250 spacers (the lowest quantities they sold!). Just been trying to bolt them up and the bolt is about 5mm too short, just can't get enough thread engagement on them, so I'll be ordering a few new bolts from Simon tomorrow, along with a couple of locktabs. Whilst I had the bonnet off I decided to rest a Mini radiator in its normal place just to see how much room I have to play with.....

I don't think its going to fit.... :P

Just looking at the following pic:

You can see that the water pump pulley is roughly above the tube that runs from the rear floor mount, up to the teardrop mount. In my pictures above, the radiator looks like it will be sitting pretty much butted up against the pulley, leaving no room for the belt or the fan!

looks like your going to need a mk1 'tro rad.

go for a remote oil filter set up, nippon denso alternator and minispeed H/T starter mounted back to front and you can free up loads of room at the front

Luckily I just happen to have a Nippon alternator in my garage, the advantage of having bought 4 Honda engines, stripped one, and sold another! Was thinking of spinning the alty round to next to the carb or something. I hadn't seen those Minispeed starters though, very interesting indeed! :w00t:

Having said that, there is a tube that runs directly behind the bottom of the grille, so I'm not sure if this will cause clearance problems with a front mounted rad.

I'm going to try and get the engine on the crane and roughly in place tomorrow night to see exactly what room I have where.

Copycat! :teehee:  I could put them in the boot I guess, I could even then do an ICE build, but instead of that heavy tat that most people use for an ICE install I could just have my remote resevoirs and my NOS bottle! :w00t:

Well again my weekend was cut short slightly. Spent 2/3rds of it doing jobs on Raz' Monty. Adjusted her rear brakes, adjusted the servo, made the brakes a lot more responsive! Then changed the clutch arm and clevis pin, both worn quite badly resulting in a very high bite point. Then adjusted the throttle adjusment on the cable, as there was a fair bit of play on the pedal.

Anyway, on to the important Mini! Got the tower mounts properly bolted in at last. Had to remove a couple of brackets that were attched to the old damper top mounts. That took a while as the bolts were all rusted and cruddy!

Then it was getting dark, bit cold and I had a feeling it was going to rain soon. I was also shattered! So I was in two minds whether to try and get the engine in place this evening, but I thought if I didn't do it today, the weeks weather ahead might not be so great, so I decided it had to be done!

Got it in place, then used the standard rad to gauge how much room I have to play with in terms of a cooling system!!

Also, after I'd taken the damper top mount bracket off, I realised someone made a bit of a booboo when they were drilling the crossmember for the tower mounts! Oopsy!
