Before going down to Newquay on the riv run I'd though I give changing the bike can and go. I had my standard one off the bike before changing it so my idea was to bang it on to make it a bit quieter. So went into the motor club and got it up on the ramp. Took the whole system off and started by re welding the flex joint on to bring it a bit higher as it was scraping everything. So got it all nice and tucked up. I worked my way back to the rear can and tried to fit the other one. Not really a good idea after all as I found out it was massive. I'm talking cannon size compared to the blue flame.

So ditched that idea and left the blue flame on. It does look so nice after all. But it was still soooo loud. Having a good think I looked into baffles for the can but being a race can they are not supposed to fit but my mate had left his box for his blue flame on his bike in my loft. So I had a route round and found it. I bodged the baffle into the small exit and took it for a drive. It's still loud was a wicked note but the resonance has gone more or less so it'll work.
We found out on the way to the riv run that if you stick at say 65mph with the rest of the convoy it's quiet. If you go about 70 - 75 it's loud as hell but above that at about 80 - 85mph it's good again. " sorry officer I had to go that loud to make it quieter in the cab"
We came back on friday on our own and the car flew. Had three surfboards and two wind breaks on the roof and the car was flying. Not quite literally but after a certain speed it was going very light
Since being back the car has been good. Still working on the idle valve problem as it's still making a loud noise but am kinda getting used to it. I think my tracking is out as the car is starting to torque steer again so have to get that looked into too.
I have been trying to sort out something for shows we go to as my lady doesn't like the cold nights in a tent with her asthma kicking in again so on Sunday will be picking up an Eriba Puck caravan we have bought. 1974 smooth sided one. It's real nice. I will post up some pics of it when it's home.
In the mean time I have fitted a tow bar to my car. I got it through this moring.

Was looking for ages to find one that didn't attatch to the rear valance/bumper area as I think it's a crap idea and also I don't have a rear bumper

This one you can see the small exit baffle I put in

So looking forward to getting the puck on the weekend and getting out and using it. Gonna get some great looks on the motorway as I'm sure not many people have seen a mini pulling a caravan

where is the towbar bolted too?
The tow bar fits at the back of the subframe, then goes forward and is bolted through the rear seat area. It's quite strong but the car doesn't like it if I hit VTEC with the van on the back. Here are some pics to see what it looks like.
KAM - Me sensible?? More like a nice warm place to pass out when drunk at shows

and for passing out

I think you've possibly got the first vtec mini caravan?
I'd say go one further though, you know how people with mini trailors match them up to the mini.......

We are thinking about some small vinal stripes down the lower half and blue around the arch funny enough. Also it's the same pcd as a mini apparently
Cheers Burnard, we go surfing when we can so this will help us get away more. Not just a show van

Can you actually stand up inside it? Just looks a little on the small side
Think i would end up doing more trips if i didn't have to worry about setting up camp, it certainly makes sence.
Also means you can use a tow bar mounted cycle carrier which are a damn site nicer than the rear or roof mounted ones.

I'm 6'4 and I can just stand up in the pop top. My head does touch. But other than that your sat down so no need to worry about it.
