Still popping the rivets but its getting one step closer. A full days work on this project involves a lot of thought, you don't want to put a panel in and later find yourself removing all them rivets because you missed some thing. So its 4 hrs thought and 4 hrs practical.

Do you have a set of clecos for testing panel fit??

They're inexpensive, and can be very helpful.....

Also, are the uprights made out of aluminum??

I should have some Clecos. I have managed using a self tapper every other hole.
It has steel front uprights.
The thought is mainly, will I be happy, will the sva tester be happy and will the later turbo be happy.

Just a small update today. I had to do a slight mod to the fuel tank as the brake and clutch cylinders were interfering with the tank fitting.

Nearly all removed ready to clean up before welding.

First piece welded in place.

After a leak test the finished tank and I must not forget to make an unleaded fuel neck restrictor.

Thanks, I have only been welding alloy for a year nearly. I work under a large building with concrete floors above me.
Upstairs they have tiled floors, pool and snooker tables. And when they drop a ball I burn a hole

mint welding matey. You make the entire tank or just edit it?

How much would it cost to weld up a square billet tank for the back of a mini? wouldnt mind one in the 1430. When the paint goes on want to get of the filler cap.

I could do you a billet tank in two halves and bolted together with lots of bolts. But it would be very very expensive.
Or I could make you a sheet alloy one a bit cheaper depending on size.

The R1 is still for sale but the Monte is coming on quickly.
Spent all day on it today and it looks like I have done nowt.

It takes a long time to to fit the reverse and set up the rear geometry.

Set the camber to 1.5 neg and the toe to parallel just for a starting point on the rear.

Very handy these camber brackets and they do work well.

The rear is almost finished now so its time to tackle the front, then its all ancillaries from now on.

Hi Ian,

You didn't happen to pick up the AP stoppers recently from Chris, did you? They sure look familiar - I exchanged a brand new set as a swap to Wilwood with Chris over Christmas, and the set, which looks exactly like yours, had one side with a plastic plug over the union fitting, and the other not....small world?

Good to see your making progress....it's miserable in the garage here right now - too cold to do most anything except sit around the fire...

Aric

I have brakes, big ones.

Strong possibility that Aric >_< I think I will send you some garden gnomes over for a holiday :o
What sort of temperature are you enduring over there? I am lucky to have two huge boilers in my garage to keep the cold out.

I cannot finish the wiring yet mark until I have the main loom in and instrument wires in.

Going to play on a milling machine today. Keep you posted.
