Garden gnomes would be good. >_<

Temps have been around 0F (way below 0C, late night typo - edited now :withstupid: ^_^) in the evenings for the past two weeks - I have a propne heater in the garage, but it goes through gas likes it's going out of style, and takes an hour to heat the garage when it's so cold....a few more weeks of cold temps and it will hopefully be spring...fingers crossed

Cheers,

Aric

Strong possibility that Aric :o I think I will send you some garden gnomes over for a holiday :gimme:
What sort of temperature are you enduring over there? I am lucky to have two huge boilers in my garage to keep the cold out.

I cannot finish the wiring yet mark until I have the main loom in and instrument wires in.

Going to play on a milling machine today. Keep you posted.

Aric, do you have these brackets (in the centre of the picture) on your Monte?

Posted Image

I now have wheels that go round and turn left to right.

The steering is almost done and I have fitted the bias pedal box.

Any tips on what diameter flexi pipe to use on the brakes and clutch hoses anyone?

I was thinking along those lines, but there is no where to connect to the wish bones.

God i want one of these next. I'm jealous! I don't think i've got enough body parts to sell though to pay for it. Out of interest roughly how much has your monty cost you to date?

Thanks

Tommy

I asked Chris about that as my arms came without tabs too, seems he expects you to weld tabs (which the supplies with the ant-roll bars) to the arms if you spec the Anti-roll bar kit after the car order.

Actually I think the description went something along the lines of both of our frames were made at about the same time (min'es serial number 003), early in the Monte's life, before he decided thae road spec cars wouldn't need anti-roll bars.

Since mine's slowly morphing into a track car as it gets built, I've ordered a set of bars from Chris...was actually expecting them to come with the car in the first place really...

Thanks for the reply Aric, I will worry about the suspension later. The main thing is to get this up for sva testing before next year. Lots of new EU ruling concerning kit cars next year.

Done a little bit work on the steering to gain more lock.

Routed the coolant hoses around the tank rather than under it. This leaves a bit space for a primary fuel pump under the tank.

Pedal box sorted apart from throttle pedal.

And when I'm not working on the Monte..

I should be making more progress in the next few months as business usually drops this time of year.

When I'm not repairing this.

Posted Image

Posted Image

A little bit of progress, mainly trial fitting of components to arrange seat position, pedal height and column length.

Posted Image

Ford fiesta reservoir tops fit the willwood master cylinders perfect.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

A little bit of fabrication required round the harness eye bolts.

Going to bed now, at oulton park in the morning.

Another problem solved. As the Monte is designed as a race car the fuel tank does not easily adapt for a tank sender unit.
The tank has two horizontal baffles, so the normal lever type float is not an option. So I had to go for the tube type sender.
I think the pictures will explain the problem.

Then after lots of pints and thought. The new hole.

The sleeve.

The end cap.

And there you go.

Ready for some welding tomorrow, then the final polish.

Today's progress. just don't know where the idea of polishing it came from but I wish I had not started.
Anyway its done and I can move on.
