Right box this time...

I wouldn't read too much into his revs dropping, more likely the oil pressure is a symptom of that rather than the other way round - have his pressure relief valve out for a clean up 'n think about adding a little packing behind the spring to raise his cold pressure to 60-70 psi, that should bring up the warm pressure too. Does he make oil pressure straight away when you start him?

:) never did work out why everyone was in to eighties music >_<

I shall mention it to them and see what they say...

Either way though - it shouldnt have happened after a couple of days of use!! :)

I had my scuttles sorted once, the filler had bubbled. I had it removed, went out that driving, noticed they had cracked that night.

Thanks, Ted! :P

I was reading through yours a minute ago, too! :ermm: Sorry to hear about the bump!! :) >_<

The leak is the first thing on the list.... then its the subby mount... then testing the oil pressure.

If the oil pressure still drops, then its the pressure release valve :P

Then..... nothing will break? :D

i can always hope though, eh ? :) lol :P

might have sold his old interior, which means i need to find some new doorcards... which means i need to find money for new doorcards :ermm:

>_<

I rekon I've spent about £1000 in total on him so far, what with the front end and the clutch adding up to about £650 anyway!! :P

Drained the cooling system and taken the radiator out! I've also sanded down and primed the radiator housing. Will give it another coat of primer tomorrow... then the next day will be a sand and a paint in satin black.

Didn't really get much time today, only an hour or so - so haven't done alot.

But I did find this, resting on the front subframe, hidden behind the radiator... :o

Looks gorgeous, I enjoy reading these blogs! get's me excited about hopefully getting my hands on my own mini and also what should be a brilliant & memorable first car.

All the tiny details make it a superb car for me, even to the bonnet straps.

If I've got an oil leak from the timing cover, that means that there's oil the other side. To change it, does this mean that I have to drain the oil first!?

No you don't. I think oil is only splashed about in there when the engine is running, it certainly wasn't full of oil when we took mine off.
