we took it away to the restoration club where jordie attacked it with a noisy tool

he made it look like this

we then assesed the damage from the crash...

the above being the worst. i expected alot more to be wrong than we found.
cut away the A panels

then away went the inner wing, followed by chipping sanding away the inner arch bit

meanwhile, jordie steamcleaned the new engine

took out the windscreen and found a perfect scuttle

anyone tell me what this is ?

then tucked him in for the night

massive thankyou to jordie

No worries about the help, what are friends for.
That pic you took of the car on the A-frame makes it look dead close to mine, but really the gap is massive lol. Glad the barrier at the tunnel didnt come down on your car too.

subby and mounting points all seem fine so far exept the very front bit bent in the piccy... thats gonna be streightened out after the engine is out (tuesday)
i expected ALOT worse to be honesti expect all will be revealed when the engine is out and we can properly check things
if i was you i'd bin the subby and get another and that thing you was asking about it's for the headligths the dim-dip, if say you had angel eye headlights u unplug the plug on that thing and side lights are then only the little bulb not the main head light on dimly.... SO KEEP IT!!

The subframe is only slightly bent, the tie bars are straight and the mounting points line up. We can easily bend it back. Insurance assessor said it was repairable.

Forgot to take any pictures when we packed up, but basically the flitch panel repair section has been cut to shape and is resting in place. Tom and steve used the rolling machine thing to put a lip on the edge of the metal, so the panel joggles in behind the old panel for a better weld.
