Well im well stuck now. The inner wings will not line up at all, the gaps are all wrong, the holes dont line up and its either too high or too low

Drivers side on

Top a panel gap

Thats not right at all.

Holes well out, that pushes the inner wing too high at the front, puting it back down makes the inner wing the right hight at the front.

Front Panel lined up.

Front kinda on.

The last picture makes me feel good about the project but dont understand the gaps.

I had the same problem when i fitted my inner wings. The shock mount holes never seem to line up properly, but you can get all the bolts in. My lower holes still seem well high. As for the door shuts, don't worry, if you haven't taken the doors off then the hinges are proberly still shimmed to the old 'A' panel. The gaps will shim up well, mine did (Eventually
)
Thats what im woried about, the top hinge has 2 shims on already yet wont open with the new a-panel, but if i add another shim the door wont close as i need to remove a shim to make it close. Im really stuck with it.
The shock mount holes are about 1cm out, pushing it around to make them fit makes the front sit 1cm to high to fit the front subframe mounts.
Cant win with it, the passenger side is exactly the same.
Awww Chris that looks like a 'mare, hope you can get it lined up and fitted, just don't unleashed the BFH on it
The last pic though, you can really see things to come
Thanks Bec, i wasnt going to put them on but i did just to try make me feel better.

After a chat with Sprox last night and my friend Paul today ive got the holes lining up and the gaps right.
Jacked the car up off the ground and then hit the subframe with a hammer after putting a jack towards the crease, the holes are now in the right spots and the crease near enough gone

WOO! Put the entire front end back together, all the lines look good and straight. Think its nearly time for the welder to come out.

Turns out that they were made over 10mm too short!
It's really not what you expect from genuine panels

Glad it's lined up though - Well done!

The hammer maybe an understatment... it was a 18pound sledge hammer against the subby to bend it right. Its all good now tho.
Once its welded up, it goes on the spit then the floor comes out.

Did a bit of welding after fixing the welder again (got bad feeling about the welder) now the steady mount on the crossmember has been welded back on and the crack fixed. Then ground it all back so it looked neater

Tomorrow i may remove the inner wings and start making holes for the plug welds.
