The whole project looks great Chris, it'll be weird for you at first following that big square bonnet when you drive it

My guess would be that those pieces are to blank off the washer jet and L/H/D wiper holes in the scuttle panel? If not then I've not got a clue :P

I know, it will also be strange it being alot longer than normal.

Tom has one currently correct. The wiper holes are the small ones :P

Large two remain  I say they are just a bit smaller than 2inches across.

Ooh I've got it I think, the holes in the top of the new inner wings where there's normally a rubber bung? I've got them on my Clubby but not sure if they're standard on new inner wings or not...

Whilst I'm not arguing that is what the holes are for (in fact I've often wondered) that wouldn't explain why the early GTs don't have the holes.

(unless they were a later addition to make panel pressing easier?)

Well thats what ive been told and id believe because of the creases. If the earlier ones didnt have the holes then maybe thats wrong.

I would also exect the holes not to be round if they were there before the panel was shaped.
Interesting.....

Could they just be left over from when the front ends were being built up on the production line on their seperate trolleys? gotta attach it to something so why not a ruddy great bolt through either side...

Asked on other forums too, nobody seems to know. Anyway.

Progress.

Welded in scuttle blanks, of course second attempt was better than the first.

Underside

Bit of filler, needs more sanding and another layer.

Welded all the holes from drilling the spot welds out. 2p's are great.

Bit of primer as i wanted to protect the bare metal.

Now, possible colour for the body, with flash.
