So tonight I set about cleaning everything down in the engine bay that had been covered in muck from the radiator, I wire brushed the bracket & cowl and repainted the rocker cover, radiator cap and window washer cover in Satin black paint.
So tomorrow I'll go into Gearbox and get some new jubilee clips because we've ran out here so I can start putting it back together and hopefully within the next week she'll be back on the road.
Just started cleaning, comes off easily but some places are hard to reach.

And just about done!

Decided to take the bonnet off and clean that up underneath, also aligned it more when I refitted it.

Everything sprayed up and ready for tomorrow, radiator cap isn't in the picture.

Once I get my flip front sorted, I will be cleaning/replacing as much as I can in the engine bay, so a little bit of mess now won't hurt for now. I just wanted to try and improve the appearance a little.
Need a cheap top & bottom hose, any ideas?

Fibreglass kit also arrived today

I think I mentioned above about the fiberglass but it's just a temporary measure to keep the rain at bay until I can afford the front flip.
Little change of heart but I've decided to go for the wavy MK1 grille rather than the flat type, little more original I think

Hopefully in a few weeks I'll start buying things and stockpiling them in my room until I've got everything, that way I can slowly tick things off my list and do little jobs here and there to earn a bit more money.

Going to replace the thermostat & thermostat gasket today, will also clean up the thermostat housing, can't really do much until the above arrive.

Going for a shower as my girlfriend should be coming around soon so I'll update this later.
EDIT:
First of all the By-pass hose came off after much difficulty, will be replace with a blue silicone one which means taking the waterpump off.

The remains of a bodge gasket & thermostat,

New thermostat & gasket.

Thermostat housing before cleaning.

& afterwards.

Resprayed rocker cover & washer motor cover, covered in runs and imperfections but in due time they'll be replaced with nice new ones.

Replaced heater valve gasket.

Boot board,

& boot board finished.

Needs some tidying up & I wanted to be able to remove the whole thing at once to make life easier, happy with it though.
I'm waiting for some things to arrive in the post before I can do anymore.

Cheers Dad, is that an early Christmas present or am I paying you for it?

I'll be out at work tomorrow morning doing overtime and then out for the rest of the day so Dad is going to take over and get some work done on b, shame because I was looking forward to fitting all these nice new bits.
Hopefully should be all installed tomorrow.
Petrol line is causing trouble again, only sorted it a few weeks ago but where the pipe from the tank connects to the pipe coming from the front is leaking. This time I'll train the tank completely and push it in as far as I can then fit 2 jubilee clips.

I'll try and get Dad to post a reply and he can say what's been done.
