Thats good news Luke, and it should be running loads better now

Excellent news! Wish my dad would get interested in minis like he used to be lol

Yer I wish mine was too, 3 minis he had, he helps out here and there, but he can't be done with the hassle of them anymore.

Just been reading from page 1 to 18. Nice steady progress, Why dont you red oxide some of that rust in your boot may slow it down abit? My Mini is in the same condition as yours nearly, I've just bought a bare 1972 Clubman shell needs some work not much tho. Going to use my Red Mini as the doner car then i'm going to do that up also. I'm a bit like you dont really get that much cash. Around 500 to 700 pound a mouth its hard when your skint and you have to wait 2 or 3 weeks till next payday LOL.

Back on the road! well half way there, just waiting for the tyre fitting and then she's good to go.

I'll try and get Dad to post a reply and he can say what's been done.

Battery charged up - too much music while you work by 'you know who!' :P
Fixed fuel line leak by pushing metal tube further onto the fuel hose and adding an extra hose clip
Tightened exhaust clamp between manifold & pipe, added lock nut
Flushed out cooling system
Removed fan, water pump & fitted new kevlar bypass hose with new clips
Refitted stat, fitted new rad into cowling, reassemble, replaced top & bottom hoses
Fitted new fan belt
Refilled system & crossed fingers
Refitted front grill (with small bolts) & bonnet
Refitted battery
Fired up & ran for a while ^_^
Cleaned wheels (ready to take two for new tyres tomorrow hopefully)
Quick car wash
What a good boy I am - I think I have a really big Christmas present coming this year!

Next jobs - fibreglass inside front wheel arches , refurbish brakes.

Haha yeah it's steady alright, but every step is a step in the right direction so it's not all bad. If you earn 600 a month I earn a third of that! so it's slower progress for me :P but I like to think I've got another 60 years with her to go.. next year Uni, few years after that get a full time job as a Graphic Design Junior and I can start doing things I want. But for now it's just little things to make her road legal and drivable, couldn't do it without my Dad though.

Cheers Dad for listing the above & new tyres will be fitted on Thursday not Tuesday because someone foolishly only ordered one tyre not two :)

Just a quick picture of the new cooling system.

Quite impressed with my painting skills for the radiator surround! Think I'll buy a new shiny radiator cap when I can spare the cash.

What about those shoes for the back and is it worth replacing the pads on the front?

Why, if they are not worn out yet?

She's up on axle stands tonight, two front wheels are going into Loughborough tomorrow and having new Yoko A539's on them to match the back, best one at the minute of the front two tyres is going as a spare in the boot.

Dad has been out today putting some fiberglass on the wheel arches to prevent water getting in over the winter, applied a coat of underseal too for extra protection.

Apart from that not much else, feel like I've hit a brick wall with her.. I've got Insurance and MOT coming up in February, which is still about 4 months away but on a student wage is frighting, I've also got things like Uni to start thinking about and putting money aside for, I could really do with a Macbook, Christmas is coming up.. also wanting to do my frontflip in between now and February.

Pah, just can't be bothered to be honest. I know that's the wrong thing to think but trying to do everything on 250 a month is ridiculous.

Nah stop being a girl Luke! I can easily do everything I want, just gotta be focused and motivated.

Christmas coming up soon too, so I think the majority of my Christmas list will be everything I need for my front flip.

Yeah gonna get this sorted for sure.
