I was looking on the shelves for cans called 'primer' & 'etch primer' but couldn't find either so I asked the bloke and brought what he said was both.. the Simonz is primer & the Hi-build stuff is etch primer, is that correct?

Whole underside of my 1 piece, I've got 2x 600ml cans there.
Well see how you go with them, you might have enough there, are you going to do behind te A panel and all the way up to underneith the scuttle?

For now I'm going to assemble the front as best I can, cut out holes for the lights & grille, stone chip the underside, make brackets for the bumper etc..

Yeah I will do when I get to that stage in about a months time, but I'll go back & pick up some more.

Oh right, because when you get to that stage, you will need to put quite a bit all the way up to the scuttle because thats where most of the rust/rot starts lol.

Haha, yeah I'll be all over it with seam sealer, waxoyl & everything else to keep the rust at bay! But seeing as I'll have a front that can be removed I can clean all the mud & muck out if it ever builds up & keep on top of things a lot more.
Yer, seems like a good plan.

I heard the doorbell go this morning whilst I was getting ready so I think that's the horn & fuse box, if not then it's the numberplate. I'll be out again today with Dad hopefully finishing the brakes.
EDIT: package wasn't for me
& Yeah I managed to do the manifold clamp! I had to get her up on axle stand and put a chock of wood underneath the exhaust to push it upwards and hold it there so I could tighten the clamp, I tried before and managed to tighten the clamp but left a bit gap and it was blowing like mad. But it's on now and tightened, but an extra nut each side as a lock so it should be fine. Certainly sounds a lot quieter anyway.

Just finished up as it was getting dark, but yep, job done! Replaced discs, pads, springs, seals & pistons. I also sanded down the flip front on the inside and applied the first layer of Stone-chip.
Couple of problems along the way but nothing Dad couldn't overcome! Took it for a lap around the village & it feels brilliant, also much faster & quieter because of that damn manifold clamp. She also doesn't pull to one side at all now either which is fantastic.
My hands are freezing cold so I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Feeling more and more happy about her!
