Still got my MK1 rear lights to come from my Grandparents!

@ buddylove, nah I don't think I will.. eventually it'll be replaced as it's really quite rusted and wouldn't look good painted, although I could sand it down and paint it.. we'll see.

Anyway, I'd better go and eat chocolate for breakfast like I always do :xmas:

That's strange! you've gotta wait for Christmas & It's happening for us lot, so catch a plane over here and I'm sure it'd come sooner!

Think I'm going to wait until the massive mini show on January the 25th at Himley Hall and buy all the parts then, like panels & everything else for the front. I'll save a great deal on postage and I can see what I'm buying first. Plus I get paid on the 23rd so I'll have plenty of money to burn.

Cheers Frankie, progress will slow down for a month now until I get paid again and I can buy all my final parts. Once I've got everything the garage will be ready and I can get cracking with a grinder & welder, start making some real progress :xmas:.

Very nice prezzies! :xmas:

Your up to where i am now with the parts (minus the brakes) Loving the fact that ive got a mini frontend in the shed :xmas: They are alot bigger than expected purely because its a mini. Angle Grinder for me this crimbo, all sorted to have fun with the cutting of the metal frontend!

Should be seeing you at Himley then, i get paid the week after which is depressing, me thinks a short time loan off mum is on the cards :xmas: :xmas:

Cheers Carboy!

Well Dad and I are just going through everything and ticking things off in preparation for the MOT, everything is in working order I think.. front brakes are next and then it's the bodywork! so yeah I'm happy things have started moving along.

Once I get it through the MOT then I can doing luxury sort of things, like converting to 10" wheels and fitting a stage 1 kit etc.. but yeah, chuffed for now :xmas:.

Yeah i'll be doing the 10" thing, but looking at alloys at the moment im looking at 12"x6" (changes daily), but still setting up the brakes for 10"s so i can change if i want to, when im finished with the project might get a new set of alloys every few months lol, some like shoes i like alloys!

Good luck with the MOT :xmas:

Haha, well I've spent about 80 notes on the changing the front discs & servicing the calipers, a conversion is 250 and then you've got alloys & tyres on top of that.. so it'll have to wait! :xmas:

Next job will of course be the flip front, changing panels & tidying up the engine & engine bay.

Any tips on cutting fibreglass anyone?

Well today I'm going to look at a clubby in a field, It's one of my close mates Grandparents and it's been sat in the field for years and years, I've only see a picture on his phone but it doesn't have any wheels & it's got mice living in it..

So I'm hopefully coming home later with some goodies :shifty: I'll see what's left on it.

Well what a disappointment! Met up with Yaxley & Rob and followed them to this field, had a good look around and it wasn't there! Just a pile of old tyres where it once was.. then a bloke walking his dog spotted us and came over, he lived in the house next to this field and he said the bloke down the road had away with it about 6 months ago.. So we went in search of 'Pinty' on his farm and couldn't find him.. boys being boys we had a good look around in the sheds & such, full of old tractors & combines, loads of machinery that hadn't been used in years, but couldn't find the mini anywhere.. Yaxley left a note asking him to ring his house number so hopefully we can find out the whereabouts of this mini.

Pinty has committed theft anyway from going on private property & removing the mini, which also belonged to Yaxleys family.

On the plus side I saw a load of really nice old cars out for a drive :shifty:

I just hope it hasn't been scrapped for cash :)

I've just ordered a metal black & white plate for the front, wasn't happy with the stick on one.. if I get pulled for it or fail an MOT then it's stuck on and I can't remove it, silly waste of £20 but it was my mistake.
