Should be out tomorrow sorting the front brakes! I'm saving all my money for Bingley so I can pick up all the parts & panels then for the flip front so nothing much will happen until then, in the mean time I'll be doing little jobs & hopefully getting my Dads friend over to weld in the rear MK1 lights

Did you get the brace bars off the guy off here with the hinges or you buying your own. Either way can you tell me where, as it'd be a pain if i got some and they would obstruct the hinges.

Should be picking up some Stone chip on Monday so I can paint that on the underside of the front flip, will help with the appearance & give it a bit of protection.

+ Replace discs, pads, service calipers (springs, seals & pistons)
+ Sort the electrics (hazards, horn, brake test & main beam flash aren't working)
+ Fit new exhaust clamp.

Oh are you going upwards with your flip too? I'll be picking some up from a mini show at the end of January, I've been told that I won't need special brace bars as normal ones will do.
Oh ey! Upwards flip is the future!
+ Sort the electrics (hazards, horn, brake test & main beam flash aren't working)
So what does work electrical lol?

Well you can see how the hinges raises up so the brace bar fits underneath, so I know I'm safe with standard brace bars! Does your hinge do the same?
Haha, well the horn, brake test & head light flasher are on the same circuit and that's gone before so I've got a good idea about why that's not working, but the hazard has puzzled me for a while.
& the best way to cut holes in fibreglass anyone?

I would have thought (although not tried it myself) for cutting them holes you be best off with a hole cutting set for an even cut of the whole thing at once like this set; http://www.machinema...e-saw-set/path/ dont quote me on it though.
Oh just found this one aswell which specifies fibreglass http://www.machinema...e-saw-set/path/

Spent a good 5 hours outside today with Dad, pretty unsuccessful day but a step in the right direction, I also didn't take that many pictures as it was so cold & I had my hands full.
First problem we encountered was that we didn't have a wrench big enough for the castle nut so the disc couldn't be replaced, but Dad will go across to Grandads tomorrow and find one in his garage. So today..
+ Replaced pads, pistons, seals & springs on the near-side.
Massively tricky job.. I let Dad get on with this whilst I had a go with the electrics.
+ Fitted the new exhaust manifold.
Well it's on.. ran out of daylight today so I'll go out on Tuesday and tighten it up, such an awkward position to get to it so I was getting quite irate..
+ Had a go at fixing the electrics.
Pfft.. didn't get far, proved the horn didn't work by putting wires directly from the battery to it, so I'll order a new one of those tonight & also I'll order a new fuse box because the current one isn't in a good condition & causing a bad contact.
So it'll be Tuesday when we're next out, hopefully be able to do everything then! & maybe if Minispares keep up the good work I'll have the horn & fuse box by then too.
Pictures..
Jacked up, wheel off.

Caliper off, before anything was cleaned up and replaced.

New exhaust clamp to go on.

Pain in the arse old one that was blowing.

New fuse box & horn ordered, £35!
But I can't really get far without them, seeing as having a horn is a legal requirement & electrics are also quite important.
Is that with your discount off minispares
